GDMX - Yeah, I always delete those right away. Thanks Cham ! No 3811H on your 7.5 - that's discouraging !

    99W on 6 ft dish

Good suggestion; but, no, I don't have one. I've always just used STB firmware for setup. Do Mpeg-4 channels tend to require dishes larger than 6ft for c-band? Mpeg-2 HD seems to be OK on 99W w/ 6ft for me.

    99W on 6 ft dish

Thanks for your reply. So Thanks for the suggestion mr3p, but my WSI has been peaked to the max! Any further micro-adjustment at this point will only degrade the signals that I now receive. Cable is brand new and good quality, w/ new lnb to replace its sundried predecessor. I've tried with a...

    99W on 6 ft dish

Hi everyone. After a long pause (about 2 years?) I've set up my 6ft stationary dish to bring in channels on 99W again. My earlier receiver was hit by a power surge during a storm, and I only replaced it recently with a Freesat V7, which is functional but has its quirks. I can get 3720H and 4000H...

    Openbox X5 receiver

Really, I don't know why you guys are making fun of the Openbox X666. From what I hear it will have many great new features, including a smartphone-inspired flip and rotate function allowing users to automatically convert it into a model 999X merely by turning it over.

Sunstar ST-5000HD DVB-S2 HD HDMI receiver for $44 shipped

Sorry I can't help you out there, Brian, but I won't be purchasing from any company that reserves the right to refuse the sale of a product based on race, creed, sexual orientation or expert knowledge of satellite products. They can certainly ask you why you wanted to order their product, but it...

    36" Ku dish setup problems

The focal depth on my brand new WS9036 was about a half an inch off (that was a couple of years ago), so I just bent the support arms slightly and that solved the problem. There were no "extra holes" to make an adjustment. If I'm not mistaken, the dealer website galaxy has since then corrected...

No Go Shaw Direct on 100cm dish

This is my first time to post images - hope they turn out ok. (By the way, if you look closely at the support arms you will see that I bent them slightly to correct a minor error in the focal depth when I received the dish a couple of years ago. The focal depth for Anik F1R and F2 does not...

No Go Shaw Direct on 100cm dish

I took about an hour to adjust the dish and lnbfs and managed to improve the signal quality a bit. Not much has changed on F2 (a few decimals or one or two percent here and there), but F1R is now better. Here are a few of the indicative numbers: ch2 96%/8.2 ch9 94%/7.4 ch39 92%/7.0 ... ch70...

No Go Shaw Direct on 100cm dish

The problem has been solved with the expert help of friendly SatelliteGuys, who in the course of 2 weeks have taught me more than I care to know about Shaw Direct. Thanks again Catamount, Frenchophile, Iceberg, Jim, Josuals, Peano, QCK and Stecle. Am I forgetting anyone? As everyone suspected...

No Go Shaw Direct on 100cm dish

Catamount, line F reads 4323. Thanks everybody. I fully understand the argument that if I have good signal quality on both lnbf's already, then 2 dishes will not help. That's what prompted me to begin the post. However, I told my Canadian broker that I had good signal on both and the categoric...
