Get OTA antenna to stop paying for local channels...help

A little off topic but .... almost 10 yrs ago I posted that I thought a viable sat tv business model would be to provide only "cable" channels via sat and better integrate ota. This could save a lot of money and complication (1000 less channels, less sats, no spot beams, etc). Maybe then the...

If I drop locals will the OTA channels still have tv guide info on a 722 receiver?

DIRT says its impossible to order 722K, you may get a 722 non K

As far as I know, it only supports 1 ota channel with the usb adapter, but I'm not positive. Doesn't matter, I have no reason to upgrade. I'm done talking to Dish, hopefully for a long time. Also, WOOHOO, I now have 1 like, thanks Hall !

DIRT says its impossible to order 722K, you may get a 722 non K

I have a huge VHF only antenna and an 8 bay for UHF. I set this up to receive the low power digital ota's back when they first became available. Now that everything is up to normal high power, I get 2 dma's with a noticably better picture quality than the same channel on Dish. All network stuff...

DIRT says its impossible to order 722K, you may get a 722 non K

Just to let you know what happened, if you’re interested. 3 times Dish sent me a refurb 722 non K that I sent back. One time they sent me a 722 non K and an OTA module that only fits a K. I finally gave up and bought a used K. They claim it is “impossible” to specify a K, however last year...

DIRT says its impossible to order 722K, you may get a 722 non K

Thats a good option too. I never tried locally I just tried to update my order but they said it was too late, already been shipped. I guess I'll wait until the box shows up and see whats inside.

That sounds like a great idea. I'm going to try that.

DIRT says its impossible to order 722K, you may get a 722 non K

Thanks for the replies. I actually asked them something similar to this "There is no way to order a specific receiver, only a class of receiver(in your case the 622 family)." I asked "Why is that any different than getting a 612 or 311 or whatever, they are different models" And the DIRT...

DIRT says its impossible to order 722K, you may get a 722 non K

My 722 hard drive failed. I want to replace it with a 722K. Dish chat says no problem and then sends me a 722 non K. I contact DIRT through twitter (which actually worked very well, so bonus pts for Dish), he says they can't specify 722 or 722K, you just get whatever they have in stock. Is this...

Is it possible to suspend service on 1 of 2 receivers

Thanks for the reply's. And that is kinda what I thought would be the answer but it was worth asking. 3 months times $17 is $51. I won't go bankrupt over it but its still wasted money. I quit owning my receivers after I moved up to the 722's. Dish makes it expensive to own the receivers so I...

Is it possible to suspend service on 1 of 2 receivers

I have 2 receivers and would like to suspend service on one of them for a couple months while I remodel. Is that possible? Will they make me send the receiver back? Or can I just keep it and then re-sub it when I'm ready? Thanks in advance for any advice

I may be interested in one of them. What do you want for it? Do you know what the monthly fee is for a 522 as a 2nd receiver?
