To me quality is more important than quantity. Smithsonian is worth more than CI + BETJ! And yes I was a big fan of no commercial VOOM for the same reason.

Well said!! That is why it was called HD only/absolute!! Just because they have a few SD channels included as a bonus doesn't entitle you to the SD for each HD channel. That is why it is a great deal. If you want both get the AT packages + HD.

I watch all 5 of Dish HD channels I get and the free OTA 6 channels. I have the old DISH standalone PKG at $26 a month. No SD AT pkg. More than enough HD for me. Oh Yes I have the free 3 month SHOWTIME Ch which I will drop.

I was curious if anyone else decided to keep the original $10 5 HD channel standalone package since dish dropped the $5 VOOM extension? I'm quite happy with the small package for now. Didn't see much improvement in the new DISH HD package since you had to buy SD AT package to get it.

There are two sides to every story. I could give a crap about SD, I don't get SD from dish, I currently have HD standalone package with 622 DVR($33)! I don't like the fact they are forcing me next month to pay 30 bucks for A100 SD that I won't watch in order to keep HD!
