No, I had to manually add 97' to the list of birds. There were like 5 preset ones and they were all Euro sats. Hotbird, and something that starts with an A etc. It has a blindscan, you select the steps and min/max scan limits. Does anyone have any experience setting this card up on a linux...

I blindscanned 97' no problems with 2.6

Right now I'm just using whatever software came with the card. I'd like to be able to move my dish tho. I've got version *.6 and it has blindscan as well.

I'm not exactly sure how to set this all up. I'm pretty sure theres no way to run USALS, so can I split my line to my receiver and to my computer? I guess I could slave? But that limits me to either ver or hor right? Anybody who has one of these things have any tips? From what I've tried it...

I've been looking @ the skystar 2 2.6 and think I may try it. I've got a linux box that looks like it will do the job. Does anyone run a skystar 2 on linux? Would you recommend it? I don't really feel like buying another computer for just 1 job.

I'm no pro @ this sort of thing, I'm not exactly sure how transponders work and if they change etc. But could you just compile a big ass list of channels and not delete them out instead of manually entering everything all the time? Also, how easy is it to manually enter these things?

I'm curious how you are supposed to find channels without blindscanning? Do some of the secondary software companies do the scanning? I'm really not sure how this works, but I need to get a box thrown together and get something setup in the next week or so.

For 600 bucks you can buy a laptop and do a video chat to a camera looking @ your tv screen as a meter.

I have a merc 2, but some feeds aren't shown that are listed on message boards. I'll try and remain a little vague, but as an example, theres a sat that shows very few transponders on lyngsat but is constantly providing backhauls outside of what lyngsat says it should.

When doing a blind scan do I have to have all of the transponders already set or does the box snoop around for you?

Yesterday I could get 4 channels, 1 was running very low. Today it looks like I can only get 2. If this is breaking the rules by talking about a feed then go ahead and delete it my bad.

I had another look and it was set to start scanning @ 11700, which I think is too high looking @ the lyngsat chart. Also, it says step 6, would shortening the steps help any? I'm sure it would increase the time.
