    H3 344 Update?

I received the update earlier this week and have had no problems. It looks like it fixed my issue of Netflix not displaying 4k movie in 4k for me. I have not had that issue at all since the update.

    Netflix Broken (Again?)

My hopper updated to 344 yesterday, and Netflix seems to be displaying 4k reliably now. The Netflix app also seems to pad up a lot faster to me. My Visio TV received a firmware update as well. But the Hopper update I assume fixed the issue. Now if they would only fix it so that Dolby Digital...

    Netflix Broken (Again?)

I continue to have issues with Netflix. I figured out a trick to get it to play 4k movies in 4k. If I go to a 4k channel (540) and then run the Netflix app, it plays 4k movies correctly. Also, I cannot get it to pass Dolby Digital sound (through HDMI), even though it works correctly for normal...

    Netflix Broken (Again?)

Well, I did not do anything, and my Netflix started working with 4k programming for the last several days. Very strange but I am happy it is.

    Netflix Broken (Again?)

I have had that hang as well where I get a black screen no/video when entering Netflix. I was real happy when it the UHD started working after the U343 update, only to be disappointed when the issue came back. Luckily I have a backup way of watching Netflix in 4k, but it sure would be nice if it...

    Netflix Broken (Again?)

I am having issues getting 4k using the Netflix app on my hopper 3. I know the hopper can see my TV is 4k, as it displays 4k when I do the PIP 4 channell view. With the latest update U343, it started to display 4k Netflix programs in 4k, and I thought all was wll, but after doing some things...

    Hopper Upgrades

Just wanted to compliment Mary from DIRT for answering all my questions and setting me up with my new Sling loaded Hopper and Joey. Once I made the decision, I had it installed in a matter of days (I could have had it faster, but I needed a couple of days to move my programs to my external...

    Hopper Upgrades

I am a long time Dish customer with America's Top 200 and Blockbuster@home. I own my VIP 622 receiver. I am looking for a PM on how much it would cost me to upgrade to the new Hopper with sling and 1 Joey. I would also like to know how much more per month it will cost me with that setup over my...

Why Blu-ray will be the next DVD

I see a lot of people claiming that Blu Ray player prices will come down quickly. Without the competition of HD DVD, prices have stayed flat or even gone up on Blu Ray players and disks. DVD had many years to catch on. As technology changes faster and faster, Blu Ray may not have as much time...

What will happen to Blu-ray hardware sales in 2008?

It all depends on profile 2.0 player prices, in my opinion. I and many others jumped on HD DVD last year because it was a low cost to get into HD, and the player features were complete in all the players. $400 to $500 for a Blu Player is a lot for the mass consumer to spend on a player when the...

HD DVDs demise seem to push Blu-ray prices up

I purchased my A30 early November of last year for about $220, and that was the middle model. The A3's were going for $199 with a bunch of free HD DVD's at one point before the holidays. So they had already dropped well before the Warner move.

Now that the war is over, are you buying a Blu-ray player?

I agree with the posters that the difference between Blu Ray and a good upconverted DVD is not worth the premium in price on the players and disks. I thought it was worth the couple hundred I paid for my A30, especially with the 7 free disks, and I have gotten a lot of great deals on disks at...

    Columbia House BOGO

I picked up Serenity HD DVD and Sydney White on DVD (for the kids) for 22.46. $11.23 for each of them is way better than I have seen anywhere. Heck, I would have paid almost that much for Sydney White in the stores, so I really only paid a few bucks for the one HD DVD I was waiting for firesale...

    Columbia House BOGO

Actually, this is not a bad deal. They have some HD DVD movies that are around $23, so you could get 2 for $23 plus $2 fun cash, if you can find 2 you want. I could only find one I really wanted, but they have a normal DVD I have not been able to find anywhere for less than $20, so I can get...
