    Why does Dish Charge for locals?

    It seems that most people pay for locals, but I've had Dish Network for almost three years and I've never paid for locals. I get my service thru AT&T and get Americas Top 250 w/locals included at no cost.

    Afternoon signal loss

    I just had this same problem less than a month ago. I thought it was the dp 34 switch but it wasn't. It's the heat beating down on the lnb. Since my lnb was changed, I havn't had any more problems at all. Everything is working fine again.

    sbrinck, I'm with you on this. I know I don't hardly post, but I read alot here. A lot of 522's were sold on Ebay cuz they were being sold by dealers going out of business. Thats why your 522 was probably new and never used or leased when you got it. I think you should email the CEO again...

    If you had a choice:Satellite or Cable

    Satellite is the best choice here. Last january, cable took NBC off and this winter CBS will go off cable. The only way to get them is OTA or locals on Dish. I'll stick with satellite.
