Happy Ending Final update... As mentioned by some of the wizards here... The EHD works on the 722K just as it did on the 622. Life is good. I did have to purchase the OTA module tho. But after I called and complained about the 3 different answers I got concerning the EHD, Dish is sending it...

That's what I thought. We plugged the hard drive into the 722k and it didn't recognize it. What did I overlook? I don't want this 722k to reformat or erase drive. I'll have to move out if that happens. I'm already catchin hell from the wife!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I made an upgrade appt w/ Dish for this Monday. Thru chat I requested twice that I wanted a VIP722K (along with Sling Adapter). Not a standard 722. Chat took the order and my $$$. My email confirmation just came in showing 722. I just called them and csr says the 722 is a lease item...

Thanks Don That VIP722 dvr comes standard with the ability to record 1 OTA signal. The Vip722K has an additional OTA module so you can record 2 OTA channels at the same time as well as 2 Dish channels. I guess I'll just try a couple of cheapo splitters first.

Thanks Don_M Ok... So DON'T worry about splitting the cable outside? Just split prior to the 622 and fresh run to 722K. Now the 722K will have 2 OTA inputs. Use a splitter again there? Is there a difference in splitters?
