Alot of us D* users have asked that same question quite a bit. The current theory is that D* doesn't have the bandwidth to add it. I'm also a big NBA fan, and it's been a bummer watching the games in SD...

I really wish that D* would sell HDTV boxes that also could decode unencrypted QAM from the cable companies. That way, those of us in areas that won't be getting local channels soon will be able to pay $10 or so a month to get our locals in HD...making me a happier D* customer...

My only thought is to verify that your D* receiver is transmitting in the same mode that your TV can display. (ie. 720p or 1080i) Maybe that is the problem?

I agree with what you are saying, but, IMHO, it seems that ESPN has been moving extremely slow on this regard. They've been on the air for over a year, and yet the "World Wide Leader" still only shows 3 live "events" a week...

I disagree, dgordo...IMHO, it seems that only the Football highlights are in HD, while all other sports highlights are still SD. I know that there are several regional sports affiliates currently broadcasting NBA Games in HD, but I haven't seen those Highlights in HD, and the San Diego Padres...
