I finally got everything dialed in last night. It's the first time in two weeks that I actually enjoyed watching TV! Thanks to everyone here who offered advice. This group is the best!

Dish may be getting your OTAs delivered over fiber. I think here in Denver they use an antenna and rebroadcast, which would make sense as they have a huge presence here. I see compression on some of my OTAs too, due to sub-channels being stacked up on the transmitter.

So here's what I did. Before I completely gave up, I decided to note all of my existing settings down. I defaulted the TV input (not the entire TV) and reconfigured using the exact same settings. BAM... dramatically improved! I have absolutely no explanation for why this worked, or what this...

I started another thread on this a few days ago. I just went from a 722k to a Hopper 3. The Hopper 3 looks like total crap on my 80" TV, and the 722 looked fantastic. I see the softness the OP is talking about, and it is almost unwatchable. Then again, if you hit an OTA channel, it is so...

My next smallest is a 55. It looks pretty good on that one, but it is a much smaller display so it could just be that. That TV is also much newer, so...

I have always left all post processing off. I did try the DNR but it just made the picture more fuzzy.
