    Perhaps that is the whole point, to control the ad content. This is long overdue. I would imagine it doesn't save it online, it just makes is more like VOD. Instead of having millions of the same copy on everyones DVR HDD, it links to a copy and possibly downloads it when start playing it.

    Help with older reciever and satellite signal issues

    you have the dish pointed fine. you either have a bad LNB, bad cable or the receiver tuner is toast. Do you have a clear Line of Site? Branches can cause that too. Bring the receiver outside and attach it directly to the LNB. Bring a spare receiver from home and test it.
