Vip722 could do two TVs, but Vip922 can not - at least not very well. They only give you one remote, and slingbox takes the TV2 output. I could probably buy another remote and try to use it like 722, not sure.

Confirmed. I recently switched to "HD free for life" and now I see I have no HD Theater - means no WRC ! I don't see it anywhere on the Dish Network website - did dish network drop that channel completely? If not, how do I get it back?

The Vip922 I have has "Home Distribution" coax on the back - no "TV-2" labeled one. Also - you need to set your Vip922 on "Shared View" ON in Settings to be able to see the guide / etc when using coax.

When they install Vip922, are they supposed to give you 2 remotes or just one? I only got 1 remote (installed few days ago). Should I complain, or just buy the other remote somewhere (where?)? I want to get rid of 2nd box and just use the TV1 mirror over coax TV output for room 2...

That should not possible since dish stores your recordings encrypted on their hard drive, to prevent you putting these HD clips on some torrents, etc. But who knows, maybe that encryption is cracked already...

You need all 6 - 3 for xm, 3 for sirius - otherwise you would loose half subscribes. Untill everyone has a radio that can pickup both, you need to keep all sats. Unless Dish wants to loose half subscribes?

I'm happy - i listen to talk radio mostly, and dance/techno/eurotrash music. So it looks like before I only had one "good" channel - "Area 38", now I picked up also bpm from xm :) I don't care about any other music channels.

The problem is some people can't get OTA channels, or only getting a few of them, which would force me to go to Cable and Dish would never get my $$$

Welcome to the sat world... it's addictive...you'll get 722 if you ordered HD package... ($10 extra/month). And yes, there is a fee for USB hard drive "enabling fee".

That's pretty pathetic - so few channels. I'm glad I can get howard on XM, but there are some music channels that are must have for me... I currently have Sirius, but I'm shopping for a car and I was hoping I could get some of the music channels for the extra $4 if I buy a car with a built in XM...

So existing customer can upgrade as long as you pay for install/new dish?

The a la carte packages are for "next generation" radios only. If I read it right (a year ago), it was supposed to be sat radios that will be designed after the merger, that can pick up both satellites. If you don't upgrade a current sat radio you will be stuck either with what you got now...

Which channel spectrum was sold? I thought all channels below 18 were going away? I know in Chicago CBS channel 2 is on channel 3, which is very annoing, since this is the only digital channel below 19, so you need a bigger VHF antenna just to get that. I wonder if they will push it up to above...

Switch if you really want, or just tell them to refund you the 2 weeks...
