For those of you in Phoenix with the new dishes and receivers - did Directv call you to upgrade or did you just do it on your own ? I have the old Samsung HD receiver and thought I read somewhere that Directv would contact you to upgrade to MPEG-4 when HD locals were available.

Offer is still available. Only bad part is that I paid for 2 day delivery and UPS messed up. Instead of being delivered tomorrow I will have to wait until Monday.

If you can hook up an antenna to get the locals you will be able to get the HD broadcasts from your local stations and the picture is 10 times better than the locals over the satellite (at least in my case) even when it is not an HD broadcast.
