83W KU has tons of information on the channel that normally beeps. You won't have any trouble finding it.. it's the only channel other than TUFF and RTV.

If I had to pick between upgrading my receiver and upgrading to a bigger dish/C Band/Ku LNBF would the addition of C Band get me the most extra channels? I'm looking to upgrade something due to the lack of American channels.

I lost them too, I simply got all the snow and ice off of my dish and did a little bit of fine tuning and they are working just fine now.
