DIRECTV Further Distances Itself From Cable and Dish Network

I'm not surprised that Charter is at the bottom of the list! They deserve that -- and they deserve their bankruptcy filing!!

    New Channels

I had Dish for many, many years -- but when I moved to Smyrna, GA (Outside Atlanta) -- I had no satellite line-of-sight and had to settle for Charter. As many posters have mentioned, the Customer Service sucks and had a really bad install experience (not to mention the fact that they had NO...

    622 Commitment Question

I got a 622 Dish receiver last Spring under the lease program with 18-month committment. I have now been transferred to another city and the condo I have purchased has no sight lines to the South because of heavy trees. It looks like I'm forced to go with cable. What is the penalty for...

New Audio problem with 3.63 on 622 when will it be fixed?

I'm glad to know it's not just me. After watching a recorded show last night and then deleting it, there was no audio. I thought my HDMI was going bad (AGAIN), but the sound was out on the optical feed to my stereo receiver too. It took a reboot to get the sound back. (Didn't check TV2)...

    NGHD worth it?

I don't watch it often, but I have enjoyed several of the HD shows on the channel.

New to the board.... and I have a 622/DVR Question

I had an HDMI problem with my first 622, but the replacement has been great. The software has stabilized and I just love the 622. (Some of the extra fees really grate on me though!)

    Poor HD Quality

Also, make sure you have your HD receiver is not outputting 480i or p. (It should be 1080i or 720p depending on your set).

Distant networks, Locals, Supers and Voom out...(now back)

It's not necessarily the injunction because Sirius channels are out. And a friend who has Atlanta stations says they're out as well (Not DNS). This may be a massive technical problem.

    Need Help with HD Networks!

Does your TV have a built-in QAM tuner? (Does it have a place for a cable card?) If so, then you COULD get your local stations in HD. If not, then you have to have a cable box.

    L3.60 Released For VIP-622

I had a lot of problems with video stutter on my first 622, but after replacement, it has not been an issue. In fact (knock on wood) this new unit has been darn near perfect.

New Poll: HDMI Port vs Length of Use

All right, here's the deal. Got the 622 in early April. HDMI worked great. After about 6 weeks (and not in connection with a software update) it went dead. Nothing worked to get it back. Finally, got Dish to send a replacement. HDMI works great again. It's not the TV. Not the software...
