    AlJazeera Aspect ratio?

Wikipedia says that footage is shot in 16:9, but then converted to 14:9. See 14:9 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Question_book-new.svg" class="image"><img alt="Question book-new.svg"...

    Cw Hd

The CinCW doesn't even broadcast in HD, does it? It's on a digital subchannel of the local CBS and I don't think there's enough bandwidth to broadcast both CBS and the CW in HD. D* can't retransmit HD that doesn't exist (unless it is delivered as a "virtual channel" via fiber).

Free Previews: MLB Extra Innings & Superfan: 3/31-4/6

As I mentioned above, none of the part-time only stations seem to be working for the free preview.

Free Previews: MLB Extra Innings & Superfan: 3/31-4/6

Yes, and it's definitely a mistake. (I have not seen anything at all blacked out on the sports pack today). However, alternate-only sports channels seem not to be authorized (for those receiving the channels only through the free preview). Also, it wasn't announced but Setanta has been in the...

FCC: Continue analog cable until 2012

I think this will be good for satellite companies. If cable companies were allowed to remove their analog channels, then they could use that bandwidth for more HD channel capacity.

    Dish Network Big 10 Notice

Most of that notice seems misleading, but this sentence seems like an outright lie: If I understand the situation, BTN wants $1.10 and basic cable carriage in big ten states and $0.10 and any tier carriage elsewhere. I think E* is absolutely right in labeling BTN as an RSN and it should be...

Can FTA be used for commercial purposes?

A restaurant can't show the Super Bowl without approval even if it picks up the signal via an over the air antenna. I assume the same type of rules apply to FTA. Even though you picked up the signal in the clear for free doesn't give you the rights to retransmit the channel commercially.

    Anyone see feeds?

The unknown channels may be other people's on demand feeds. (You'll know if that's the case by the rewinding/fast forwarding.) Some cable companies send on demand content as unencrypted feeds that can be picked up with a QAM tuner.

    Channel 228 in Channel list

All I know is that channel 228 shares bandwidth with channel 364 (Retirement Living, only available during the day). Maybe if you delete that, then channel 228 won't return. Don't know if that will work, but it might be worth a shot.

DIRECTV and Havoc TV Put Viewers in Charge With havoc on The 101 Debuting April

They've been doing test runs for this for a couple weeks. It's been on from 2am-6am. I assume it will be given a much better time slot when it launches officially. The idea of voting for videos is pretty cool but there is no way to vote for free. Also, the on screen chat annoyed me after...

    NASCAR audio on mix channels

Not sure how long this will last, but right now there is an audio feed from a NASCAR race from last year on audio channel 9 of both mix channels. The news mix channel has the race with commercials while the sports mix channel seems to have the raw feed with the announcers talking where the...
