Okay to have scaler ring black?

I’ve found it to be helpful on my Oribitron 8’. I found the apparatus to be “loose” to the point of having to use 3M Super 88 to “build up the surface” of an LNBF to mount and have any sort of precision. Hopefully this helps.

Okay to have scaler ring black?

Thanks Mike!!! Good to hear from you!! There is a guy on eBay that has some golden rings. I was able to pick one up,; I am going to try it one of Brian’s LNBFs for fun. I appreciate your help! Travis

Okay to have scaler ring black?

Hello! I am in the process of refurbing a Winegard Pinnacle. Trying to make it blend in better, and after restoring a number of the parts, I decided to paint it black. What are your thoughts on painting the scaler ring black? I know it will attract more heat to the LNB, but with all of the...

Winegard 10-foot (8 panel) Pinnacle Perf Antenna

Mike - sorry to be late to the party here. I have a mount under my deck that I can get to fairly easily. I would be glad to provide pictures / measurements of what you might need. I am thinking about using this antenna (as you may recall, I have been thinking about it for years!) - but it is...

AJAK Polar Mount and Reed Switch

If the reed switch has failed, it should not be that hard to come up with something to replace it. A recessed door security contact might work with some tinkering?

    7.5 or 10 foot.

That looks like a 7.5' Winegard Quadstar.

    Placing a BUD

The feed supports attach to the outer perimeter of the Winegard antenna. You have a Winegard Quadstar. There are 4 holes - one in each section - I can see one of the holes in the picture you posted. The feed supports have different bends if I remember correctly. One end is designed to attach...

Installing a 10 foot cband dish into side of a building

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but if you are planning to sink a pole in concrete, make sure you weld some metal pieces to it so it can't break free and spin in the concrete during high winds.

here we go again, DirecTv/AT&T about to enter yet another local channel dispute, this time, with CBS

It is mind blowing that CBS is doing this. Why must they charge more to a provider? Ultimately, the providers simply pass the costs on to us as end customers. Also, with all of the radio stations that are available via the internet from all over the US (and the world), how much longer must...

Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

Man, those things are absolute garbage. I love the spring loaded speaker type terminals (which decent audio products don't even use!) for permanent connections to power and sensor wires.

ASC1 Positioner Controller - End of Production Notice

Very sad yet I understand where you are coming from. I have had nothing but great luck with your ASC1 units. The last firmware update took the reliability up to where I would expect it. For those of you having issues, update the firmware if you have not. Anyway, thanks for making such a nice...
