    $20 for HD is nuts

Silly me. here I am thinking this is a forum, where people discuss, get information, or just rant about whatever the topic du jour is. My bad. Later JimC

    $20 for HD is nuts

No whine, just a knock at Dish's business model. Which I will be leaving behind. I did not realize you all were so enamored with Charlie. It's a service, plain and simple. If I can get what I want from somewhere else then that is where I will go. I just need to wait for the fiber run. Until...

    $20 for HD is nuts

Perhaps you need to go back to analogy school. Let's try this. Burger King offers me cheese on my burger but only double cheese and they charge me $2.00 for it. I really only want one slice of cheese but they only offer me the double slice or nothing. I and other customers might buy the cheese...

    $20 for HD is nuts

I have the top 250 also. I watch prob 20 channels max. Five of those are locals that I watch OTA HD, so maybe 15 dish channels. If I could get the top 200 with Nat Geo I would do that but of course that is prob the #1 reason anyone even subs to the 250. I spoke with the local cable engineer...

HD Enabling Fee--what do you get for it?

I'm with you on $20 being to much for a channel that is hitting your dish whether you sub to HD or not. I'm waiting for cable on my street, then so long Dish. Later JimC

    $20 for HD is nuts

Yes, but not $20. I will also get my locals in HD which Dish does not have. Look I'm not bashing Dish, for the three years I've had them it's been good. If it were not for them I would ONLY have OTA. My service has been reliable, and PQ on most channels is pretty good for SD. It does break my...

    $20 for HD is nuts

I see no reason that the HD version of an already subbed channel should cost more. If cable was an option were I live, which it should be in a year, I will prob switch. Later Jim C

    $20 for HD is nuts

Hey all, I've been trying to decide about dishin up to a 622 or 722, but I just can't pull the trigger...even after the wife approved it. I just can not justify $20 extra to a bill that is damn near $70 now, just for HD. Most of the HD I watch is OTA any way, and from reading the...

    $20 a month...

D* though gives you HD for 9.99 a month. I have an HD tv, but I refuse to pay dish $20 for HD. I might consider it at $10. later JimC

    DishDVR Advantage

According to the Web the "DVR Advantage" program has "no hidden fees" I have an email in to CEO , so I expect to find out. My guess is you are still going to have the $6 lease fee also. So it will be 42.99 for 200 5.98 for dvr 6.00 for lease + any add ons HD pack etc. As I said in my email...

Official New Dish'n it up offer for current subs

I plan on upgrading too, I have a 522 now, wonder if they will want that back? What is your total monthly cost then? I'm thinking going from the 250 package to the 200 +HD. No locals since I get great OTA HD signals, I'm assuming I can manually record OTA signals with the 622. Do they charge...

Where's the New Dish Info... "DISH Network Offers Free High Definition DVR"

Not sure how they rate me. I've been with the 180 plan for over two years and never miss a payment........ Later JimC

Where's the New Dish Info... "DISH Network Offers Free High Definition DVR"

In that case I can't wait till Feb. I forgot how much I loved my DVR, but I just can't give up all that OTA HD goodness, just so I can pause the show for a snack! Later JimC

Where's the New Dish Info... "DISH Network Offers Free High Definition DVR"

Granted I'm new here, and I'm sure this has been said before. If Dish won't allow current subs to upgrade to a 622 for free in Feb. , and D* matches that offer. E* can kiss my money bye bye and off to the competition I go. Later JimC
