Can I get VOD by hooking up my telephone line to the Directv receiver? Or do I need an ethernet connection? If I connect my telephone line to the receiver, what advantage do I have? If any. Thanks

Yes I had that on few different games. They have changed the channels of a few games I think. That's what I found. Sharks/BlueJackets is on 786/787 HD

I would try come game day. I am not sure of the US rules and regs regarding accessing some sites outside of the US. All you can do is try. I am going to guess you can watch.
