    Weigel Channels

But none allow you to edit commercials and burn to DVD from the comfort of the couch ;) Yes, I know you can record to USB drives, and have in the past - real pita setting accurate timers, no editing facilities..So sorry, no, definitely not easier. Besides the shows I watch all classics and no...

    Weigel Channels

Thanks for the suggestion but I need a box with good ole fashioned composite or s-video out ideally, because I record on my DVR and edit and archive to DVD / mostly old 480 line material. I did notice CC improves as the evening wears on (worst time is 6-8 pm, when the new shows I like are on) .

    Weigel Channels

microHD “Geosat Pro” the tiny little stb. Come to thnk of it it used to have trouble with Decades too but only at certain times of the day - prime time, but never this bad as Catchy Comedies. I guess it would be pointless to ask if there was ever a patch for this issue, as developers stopped...

    Weigel Channels

And been having video issues, audio is fine. Its black then comes in intermittently. Rescanned, rebooted, change of channel of menu sometimes brings it in. uHD Pro on 10’ , no issues with any other Weigel chans. Any ideas what changed? From what I can see everythings the same as Decades. Any...

    Von Weise V76-5 Refurbishing Project

I had the same idea of heating the tabs. I did not remove the old worn nut myself, the retired guy did it for me. He also put the new one in. I am not sure there was a notch for alingment inside the tube, the only notch is at the end of the tube in the photos, but even if there was he probably...

    Von Weise V76-5 Refurbishing Project

Perhaps Lone Gunman can chime in here as well, seeing he is well-equipped machinist and obviously has some experience doing this acme nut surgery. Incidentally the weld with the nylon nut would probably damage it, unless I bought one of the brass nuts. LG are you selling these to members here...

    Von Weise V76-5 Refurbishing Project

You can see the damage from the prying on the last one, so I stopped with that nonsense.

Just took these with the sunlamp for brightness and clarity : forgive the green tint, phone anomaly.

    Von Weise V76-5 Refurbishing Project

Oops, sorry about the messy reply. The laptops keep crashing with this site so had to switch to the phone's browse. Finally feeling a little depressed about this. I even contemplated using LG's method (thanks man), it makes sense as the tabs are not disturbed except for the cut. I will drop by...

    Von Weise V76-5 Refurbishing Project

Those are some great tips for the flop/strain-relief Arlo! But right now I am dealing with the damage from this past Saturday's 'accident'. I removed the actuator and took it apart. I found the acme nut came off and was sitting at the bottom of the acme screw range !! I should have expected as...

    Von Weise V76-5 Refurbishing Project

Hi Arlo and everybody. Thank you for the excellent write up, it was very helpful - at least it gave me the confidence to go ahead with a complete stripdown and rebuild - losing my nerve in my old age :( Well, I am happy to report that the job is complete and am very happy with the results. I...

    Lip Sync issues on 113W

Anybody else experiencing lips sync issues on the Luken transponder (RTV, Heartland) on Eutelsat 113 West A (formerly Satmex ??). Also the PQ is horrendous, what happened to this network? Using uHD, my only HD receiver.

    Von Weise V76-5 Refurbishing Project

After 25 years of faithful service it's now time to change the acme screw - already done (thanks to friend in C-band since it's inception who still has parts and the tools to do this). Sorry I couldn't witness this and share for safety/covid reasons (no pics either) Now I have brushed all...

Polarizer Servo (Corotor ][ +) Issues

Hey folks been a while. Okay so last week I started having issues with above mentioned component i.e. temperamental Vertical. Skew in the Prog menu of my Startrak 400 "kicked" it back to life. There has been a good deal or rain followed by temperature plummeting so I suspect things froze up...

Unsteady DVB-S2 Signals on Old C-Band Lnb

Thanks for chiming in and validating my suspicions. My system IS peaked, and this problem only shows up on certain DVB-S2 signals. My C-lnb is older than the hills, "noisy", but it has served me well and never felt the need to 'upgrade'. I think I will treat myself to a low drift Norsat next...
