    Actuator Recommendations

Actually a Venture Ball Screw Ma818-B24 is on Ricks Satellite for $229. That will lift 1000 pounds if you use a heavy duty clamp from Venture. The heavy duty clamp comes with some models but you can look it up here...

    Actuator Recommendations

Buy a Heavy Duty Ball Screw Actuator I can attest to the fact that the Made in China Ebay actuator is a short lived spare (They use only 1.5 inch tubes and advertise as heavy duty). Mine lasted only until the first good breeze folded it over. Hunted up my old 24 inch Thomson Saginaw Ball...

    titanium ASC1 dish positioner

Fortunately, mine reads the correct direction. Just noticed that the + key goes toward the next East satellite, when it seems it should go to the next Western satellite (but that is probably because my actuator is mounted on the East side). Hope everything works out to be consistent, although...

    titanium ASC1 dish positioner

Doesn't the count direction depend on whether the actuator pushes on the West or East side of the dish? My actuator is on the East side of the dish. I set my zero at true South, so it counts up in both directions with the positive numbers going East.

    titanium ASC1 dish positioner

Not sure how that would work. My LNB's need 18 volts. The polarator needs to know the polarity the receiver is requesting so it can move to the correct polarity for both LNB's. The ASC-1 solves a lot of problems including allowing me to scan both C & Ku LNB's with only one satellite position...

    I need a BUD pole

You need 3.00 inside diameter schedule 40 pipe which is 3.50 outside diameter. See post http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/316894-12-ft-Paraclipse-Classic-Polar-T-Antenna. It only cost $2.95 per foot new from metal yard like sells metal tubing. Ask a welder where to buy it. It is cheaper used.

Need SatelliteGuys Assistance for C-band Feedhorn Alignment Tool Project

I have a couple of pictures of my Chaparral Corotor that appears to be different than those already shown, in that the probe comes almost exactly to the front of the housing. I believe there have been adequate dimensions given, but if you need any more, please let me know.

Need SatelliteGuys Assistance for C-band Feedhorn Alignment Tool Project

I have a couple of Chaparral feeds and they all seem to fit the blue plastic cover quite nicely. It is approx 2 5/8 inches in diameter and goes on 7/8 of an inch. They position quite accurately for locating the boresight of the LNB and hold tightly to the outside of the LNB with 8 plastic...

AZBOX New firmware version 0.9.5402 for AzBox Elite, Ultra, Premium and Premium Plus models

Because it is not worth anything or there would be no grey market products sold. Unfortuately Azbox has lost the prestige it once had and there is so much infighting that it probably will not recover. The major distributor in the states was (and still probably is) Ricks Satellite and...

    X2 premium

This is a technical forum, so why not make a few technical points about the X2 premium? The 80 satellites are good, but you can only use 64 of them at one time. The blindscan is really excellent. The video output is not as good on Standard Definition as the ALI chipset receivers like the...

    Which c/ku-band feedhorn is best?

Please don't. I always appreciate all points of view and we got a lot of points of view in this thread. Same goes for MagicStatic and all the other people who responded to this thread. Here is a picture of my first LNA, which was home-made in 1980. At that time the tiny semiconductor...

    Which c/ku-band feedhorn is best?

These are two of my old feedhorns that haven't been used in 19 years. They both seem to be in good shape and both made by Chaparral. The first one has the Ku LNB centered on the dish and the c-band LNB on the Polar Axis 3 inches from centered. It uses two polarators. This one is not shown on...

Do you still have your first FTA reciever?

My first satellite dish was home made in 1980 and even got a certificate from TBN to receive their signal and re-transmit it! 12 ft Fiberglass Dish, LNA, Downconverter, and all other equipment were also home made for c-band.

Paul Crouch, Founder of TBN, passed away this morning

Paul was instrumental in sending me the authorization to legally receive and redistribute Trinity Broadcasting Network during the early days of Satellite Television (December 1980). I removed my full name from this copy of the Certificate. Paul will be missed.

Confirmed. Sky Angel is out of business as of January 14th.

Many of us paid for the Lifetime subscription only to see a change in management completely nullify the lifetime contracts to try to startup the IPTV boxes. They probably truly deserve to go broke, although the gospel programming has been missed for a long time.
