    811 Losing its Mind

Here is what I did to correct the problem: 1) Deleted all my OTA local channels 2) Soft Reset 3) Re-scan all OTA local channels So far my 811 is not requesting to download local guide data every time I enter the guide. Hope this helps anyone else that is experiencing this issue.

    811 Losing its Mind

I have ver. P381 and experiencing the same problem as well. I believe it started happening to me early this week. Had the 811 since 12/04 and haven't had a problem with it. Also tried a hard and soft reset and that didn't resolve the problem. When I enter the guide, I've been just hitting...

    1/9 Charlie Chat Recap

Is there an expiration date for this upgrade offer? This sounds like this upgrade is for 'early adopters' who want the new HD channels and locals. If you are in no hurry to view the new HD channels, is it wise to just sit on the fence until everything (HD and SD) switches to MPEG4 and wait...

    Only 61.5?

I emailed Dish regarding the possibility of mirroring the Voom channels to 148; here's their reply: Dear Mr. Yra, Thank you for your email correspondence. I have no information as the channels are currently at 61.5 from the rainbow satellite. Sincerely, Mark H. Technical Support...

Mistake to combine antenna and sat signal?

In my setup, I only have two coax connections; and I have a 811 and a 510 connected to the same tv. So, coax out1 goes to a diplexer, and from the diplexer to sat in and antenna in of the 811; coax out2 goes to the 510. To my eyes, I see no degradation in signal strength or picture quality. I...

    811 Lost Wing Satellite

I'm using DishPro technology with an 811, 510, and a DishPro adapter with an 4700/4900 receiver, and all receivers see 110/119/148 fine. I only had problems with the 811 not seeing the 148, but this has since been fixed with version 265. I think the DishPro adapter emulates a SW64, since the...

    IR Extender

I use a Xantech IR repeater system; 4-output connecting block using 2 dual emitters and 2 single emitters and an IR receiver (i think the dinky link). Had it since 2001 and haven't had any problems with it. http://www.xantech.com/

    508 & 811 combination

This is correct. However, the software for JP1 remotes will also allow you to change the remote address. To program my 510, I downloaded the codes for a 508 and used the software to change the remote address to 10. Here's more info on JP1 Remotes

    508 & 811 combination

Yes. Using a JP1 remote (radio shack 15-2116), I can control both my 811 (on remote address 1) and my 510 (on remote address 10); I use the SAT device key for the 811 and the VCR device key for the 510.

    What Specials Now From E*

In December, when I ordered both the 811 and 510, the 510 deal was $99 with a 1 year commitment or free with a 2 year comitment. I opted for latter.

    Best RG6 Coax Connectors

I use Canare 75-ohm F-connectors with no prolems on my dish pro equipment. However, you need crimp tools (which can be costly) to install them.

    Using 811 & 508 together

I have a 510 and an 811 connected to my HD RPTV. I have a Pioneer PRO510, and if you have sources on 2 separate inputs, PIP is available. Right now, all my sources are going through a video processor, so I can't use PIP. You will need 2 sat cables, you cannot split the sat signal. In my...

The 811 OTA Digital Channel Mapping Issue

I notice this as well ... I'm in the the east bay. I also see that KRON also gets mapped to 57and not to 4 ... could this be a KRON issue instead of an 811 issue? Channel 48 also stays put on my 811.

    Surge Suppression and Power Condtioning

from my understanding that a balanced transformer takes your incoming 120VAC and splits that into +/- 60V components with respect to earth ground (Line-to-earth, Neutral-to-earth). By using this method, it helps cancels most of the noise on your AC. When the the +/-60V component are summed by...
