Hi All
Hundreds of people in Baja have been switching from Dish to Direct because of Spot Beams on Local Networks at 8pm every night. The single LNB direct/dish antennas are few and far between now. Has anyone used the Dish 500 antenna on 101E Direct bird to receive?

a dish is a dish doesnt matter what it says on it, the key is the LNB, it needs to be the proper one. Directv's LNB differs from Dish Network!

Exactly,

For that dish just change the LNB AND repoint the dish to the DTV satellites.

The azimuth and elevation are different. The correct coordinates are posted in the Directv receiver set up program.

Some DTV & DISH eq is not so interchangable so watch it.

old legacy style lnb works

I use an old 20 inch dish500 dishnet dish with a dishnetwork legacy lnb at my summer vacation RV. I went to a local sat. guy who gave it to me. (used) I have it pointed at 101 and get 99 percent on most transponders. It works just fine mounted on a tripod.

I know for sure the older dishes with the individual LNB's can be swapped back and forth between DirecTV and DISH. The newer dishes with the combi LNB's I don't know about....

I used to use an older 3 LNB 24x18" DirecTV dish to get both DirecTV and Dishnet on the same dish. I swapped out the middle Sat "C" 110 LNB with a regular LNB and hooked a SW21 to the 119 and 110 LNB's, I just couldn't watch the 110 sat on DirecTV however.....

What Legacy says is true, I 've seen and modified the older model Dish 500 dish for DirecTV, just remove the SW21 and aim it so that one LNB gets 101. :)

Good to know!

I never tried that because I had a truck full of DTV LNBs. I repointed a DISH 500 only because the customer had painted the dish and wanted to keep it. The new Directv LNB was ez.......but your post is another tool in the box.

Thanks,

Joe
