HR24 acting up, but only on two channels

Almost certainly a different problem. This issue only affects HR24-500 and only on the five channels listed.
And FYI if you get a problem like this on your HR44 you will almost certainly see it on an attached mini client.

Suggest you create your own post and tell us about the problem you are having.

Problem gone again. Monday morning again.
My humble opinion.
The problem affects SOME HR24-500 (some chip or some other minor difference in units)
An attempt is being made to make some kind of change in the broadcast stream or something else that is outside of the users equipment and setup.
The change is causing this issue. Enough calls come in over the weekend and then on Monday morning they revert back to the stable version. Two weeks of coding changes, "now it will work". They put it in place again. Calls again. Revert back to the old version again.

This is complete speculation on my part. I have no evidence whatsoever that this is true.

I am officially going to ignore this problem from now on. We can watch the SD version of channel 285 if and when it comes up again. It's the ID Channel and the only one of the 5 we actually watch. HD graphics aren't really an necessity for this channel.

Thanks to videojanitor for starting the post and special thanks to Chip for his latest post.

I agree with your theory, they have to be doing something unique that is affecting our receivers.....Same thing happened with my HR-24 this past Monday after it was "fixed" last time.... I see it on BBC World News- Ch. 346 which is the channel I watch the most.... There is no SD version I can go to so I'm stuck with the HD video breaking up, so cannot watch the channel....

I'm assuming that calling DTV tech support would be a waste of time as they would blame my receiver and not their engineers.....

I have this issue on my HR44/200 and it includes my locals (really bad a lot of the time; they're unwatchable and also get recorded as so as well). Been happening since 0xd1e. I've called in a few times and am always told (before being chastised a couple of times for interrupting the CSRs "flow") "I'll forward your concerns to engineering." I have 3 HR24s as well and this doesn't happen on any of them.

Is this occurring on channels 276,277, 285,286 and 346? If so, it's the first report of it on a box other than an HR24-500. Any other channels?

Yes on 276 otherwise audio stutters if picture is stable (receiver is just hooked up to a TV HDMI, PCM audio), 277 not in my package, I don't watch 285, 286 & 346 not in my package. I also get the 256 issue as well; I meant to respond to Briar14, my apologies if I confused anyone. And to repeat, this only happens on my genie. I've been scratching my head for a month.

256 is on a different transponder than the other channels, so I don't think they are directly related. If you get a reoccurrence check your signal strengths on 103CB T9 and T12. That's where 256 and the other channels are, respectively.

Thanks, good to know. Right now T9 is 89 and T12 is 91. And it's raining today.
For the next time my locals stutter and break up I'd like to know if anyone knows what bird(s) and transponder(s) they're (Phoenix, AZ) on. I could at least check the signal strength and take that out of the equation if they're high.

Thanks! Are these just the HD versions (which are the ones that break up, SD is always fine) or are the SD versions here as well?
And I just noticed your avatar...Ack! LOL

Those are the hd ones. Your local sd channels are on 101 T20.

Ahh, thanks. Locals just started breaking up again I checked the 103s signal levels on the transponders you mentioned, all are at 100. Time to call back and insist on a truck roll I think. (LOL or Cry IDK which one to do rn)

Check all of your connections and cabling first. If you don't find a problem I suspect the lnb is failing.

103s -15 is where your Phoenix locals would show up at. (Big 4 anyways)
Keep in mind the Spot Beam (s) channels take longer to populate on the screen, also, normally you'll see a local transponder be very high if it's YOUR local .... 96-100 is common.

Check that specific transponder, low numbers elsewhere don't mean a thing as they are not pointed at your local.

They are on three transponders Jimbo, 15, 23, and 24.

Connections and cabling are fine nothing's changed since supervisors were out a few years ago. I thought about the LNB but then wondered why my 3 HR24s don't have issues.
