    Ground Loop Via COAX

HA! Good luck. No one grounds anymore and new techs can't be bothered to carry an extra box of cable with the messenger. They use regular single way too often

    Ground Loop Via COAX

If any DTV hardware is in the system, that's a problem

    Ground Loop Via COAX

What I said was this separate ground path is the source of your ground loop. You need a low impedance bond between the Service Ground and your dish’s ground rod. I ran #8 copper cable between my Service Ground rod and the ground rod where my Dish antenna cable entered the house and this made...

    Ground Loop Via COAX

That doesn’t sound right to me, an actual technician will have to confirm though. All of the satellite dishes I’ve mounted have had a grounding point on the foot of the dish, and as far as I know Dish uses coax cables with messenger wires for this exact purpose.

    Ground Loop Via COAX

The direct TV system was grounded to a stake in the ground it didn't solve the problem. The Dish guy stated that they do not ground the dish for lightening strikes. Either way its not the problem. Something nasty is coming through the coax but I Am not sure where its coming. I am starting to...

    Ground Loop Via COAX

...problem at my current house in 1996 when I first installed my Dish. Fortunately, I was able to trench in a copper ground line from my Dish grounding rod to the Service ground. Hum no more! Since this is the Joey 4K with the problem, the loop may be coming through your HDMI cable to your TV...

    Ground Loop Via COAX

All HDMI Cables are not the same. The ones he wanted to sell you may or may not have a similar picture but the construct is completely different

    Ground Loop Via COAX

HDMI cables are all the same unless we are talking about long runs or using eARC, outside of that I can take a 15 year old HDMI cable and get the exact same results with a 100 dollar optical cable. A Power Strip will not remove a ground loop noise hum coming from the Coax via the dish. Its a...

    Ground Loop Via COAX

    Curious why that's funny

    Ground Loop Via COAX

I don't think its the cable connectors. I think its a grounding problem with the coax install. Dish guy did try to sell me a a power strip and a pair of hdmi cables. LOL

    Ground Loop Via COAX

I had problems with noise via AV receiver to do Coax on both Direct TV and DISH. The problem is 100 percent the coax cable in the Joey 4k Box. Any suggestions ?

Cox Media Group Removes Local Channels From DISH

After the channel repack, there are much greater odds of cochannel interference from another market. Channel Master’s new CM-1776 Pro antenna may help in some situations due to a superior front to back ratio of like 40db. Normally antennas have 19db f/b ratio. I have problems with OKC...

OTHER Cannot Find Galaxy 19 FTA 97 West :(

Hey man! Let's not get all uppity over skew. It's a bit easy once you get a grasp. Tear out and go look at any dish mounted on a house around you. See the angle it's tilted at? There's your correct skew direction, Mister. The difference in your setup and theirs is the whole dish is turned...

Bally Sports and MSG RSN Are Reportedly Preparing For Bankruptcy

The sad truth for MLB especially is that they have ridden the RSN model into the ground. What made RSNs viable in the first place no longer exist. That was the ability to tack it onto massively expensive pay tv bundles. The support for this is not there any longer. Pay tv subscription rates are...

    Hopper randomly loses power

I would say NOT an electrical problem, then. Thinking outside the box, is there anything that could be causing interference like nearby radio towers, a CB base station, etc? On the technicians portal on Dishes website, there is a recent discussion about Hoppers going into Standbye unexpectedly...

    Hopper randomly loses power

SO much for knocking on wood. The new Hopper 3 installed 1/5/23 failed last night 1/11/23 the same way after 3 other DVR failures and a poor satellite transmission to a live satellite channel. First, further testing I have done: Outlet circuit: On the same circuit is ONE other receptacle and a...

    Refurbished Hopper 3's

I bought my H3 from Solid Signal too and have been happy with it as well.

    Refurbished Hopper 3's

If you don't want to risk it with eBay, Solid Signal is probably the way to go. Got my first H3 from them, $230 (just checked and its still the same price) and it was a refurbished box straight off the line (it had the same shrink wrap and labels as ones sent by Dish would). Only issue with them...

    Dish VIP211

My issue with having techs come here is, the last time i called Dish directly for support, i was informed a tech would be dispatched to my home and he would be moving the dish. They said this was non-negotiable, i was to be put on EA. I put the dish in. I'm perfectly capable of pointing a...

    5G interference questions

Mesh screens around dishes can be very difficult to build right and in many cases will not address the problem. The commercial one's I've seen around Intelsat sites for their critical monitoring dishes were made of fine copper mesh and I had one 11m C-band dish project that required a huge...

    5G interference questions

It seems that the lack of effectivity comes with the use of a very fine mesh. I found these comments made by Titanium some time ago: An RF fence (or wall) is any structure that will attenuate the problematic signals. Signals in this high frequency range are usually line of sight and can be...

    Dbs system creation

Thanks it wouldn't bother me not getting premuim channels but I would also like to know how to add multiple fta receivers to a single switch connected to two Satellite dishes. I also want the fta receiver to measure 15x10x2 inches.

    lost signal on Shaw

Not that I have any experience with the Canadian satellites equipment, but when I was at my old place and aiming the Dish on the roof, I noted that my weight and roof construction conspired to re-aim my dish when I moved away from the area of the roof where the dish was installed. I couldn’t...

    Dbs system creation

You need a receiver, like this one. It's about the most capable, cheapest one to properly do the job: Amiko Mini 4K UHD S2X FTA Receiver DVB-S2X H.265 HEVC With NTP 4K Ultra HD | eBay You need a satellite dish AND an lnbf, and the dish MUST be larger than "Dish Network/DirecTV" types. 3ft/ 39...
