Bally Sports and MSG RSN Are Reportedly Preparing For Bankruptcy

The teams will find a way to get the games broadcast for the fans, I have no doubt of that.

Comcast Buying Roku in 2026… One Industry Executive Thinks It Will Happen

Please god, no. Roku is still a somewhat "neutral" platform. If it gets taken over by NBC Universal Taco Bell Comcast Mountain Dew, it'll be the end of that.

What a mess. Does the whole thing have to completely collapse before a stable business model emerges?

Fun fact: Clear Channel radio stations were still using Windows 3.1 on their automation PC's until at least 2003!

Bally Sports and MSG RSN Are Reportedly Preparing For Bankruptcy

They use the STL Cardinals broadcasts as their primary example. Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the team has played like sh*t for at least the past few years. St Louis is a baseball town first and foremost, hockey second. I was shocked that the Cardinals didn't seize on the...

Auction of the Upper C-Band Frequencies

Well, my take is, it's a hobby for most of the members of this site. If the broadcasters feel it's important enough and in their best interests to protect the spectrum, they'll lobby and plead their case. Nothing the rest of us can do. I guess the silver lining (if any) is they don't want KU...

    Android streaming box

They retransmit video channels as IPTV streams, package them and sell them as cheap subscription packages It's the retransmission and charging for it as a "legit" package that has Dish and the FBI upset about it.

Looks like Netflix/Warner Bros. is happening. (or maybe not.)

It was FM radio before that. Clear Channel (now iHeart) was allowed to swallow up a majority of terrestrial radio stations in nearly all markets in the late 90's. Now radio is sh*t.

    Using commercial receivers for recording?

Does anybody have any experience with that Octagon SF8008 Supreme dual tuner receiver that Rick is selling? Can it output TS files? It appears to be similar to the Edision receivers that have a WebIf interface and streaming capabilities. https://rickssatelliteusa.com/sf8008supreme.htm
