61.5 never came in real good after he repointed. I didn't worry about it because most of my HD programming comes from 72. I recently downgraded to the welcome pack. Now all of my programming comes in SD and on 61.5

I had a lazy installer a couple of years ago. He didn't properly point my dish. I'm going to hop up there and re-point. I have all of my pointing info, except.. What transponders on which satellites are best for my peaking?

I'm able to watch my dvr from my phone, tablet, and by using the Chrome browser. This morning when I went to log in on windows (99% of the time, this is what I use), it makes me go to a page to install a new plug in. I can't get the plug in to install. Anyone else having this issue?

That is correct. There is no extra wire. The wire goes from port 2 on the LNB directly to my receiver.

I didn't use a meter. I turned the volume way up on the tv. Opened the window. And started pointing. I used #2 port. And pointed at 72.7 61.5 and 77 also came in great. I left the wire connected to #2 port on the LNB.

I know how to install a 1000.4 to a DPP44 switch for multiple receivers. But today I am installing a 1000.4 to only one receiver in my summer house. Am I correct in thinking that I do not need any switch. Do I run only one wire from the LNB directly to the splitter on my 722? If so, which...

For your inital set up and pointing, you should only connect only the 72 wire, then point. Test on transponder 21.

I know those boonies. I looked at CellAntenna - Cell Booster, Wireless Repeater, Digital Antenna products but their systems seem much more expensive that what I'm looking to spend. If and when I decide, I'll post the results. BTW... Inside my house, I have 0 to 1 bar. Outside or in the garage...

So fellas. I installed my 1000.4 today. And I did a most excellant job. Thanks for all the input. I only have 61.5, 72.7, & 77 hooked up to the DDP44. Even though I think that I get nothing on 77. I want to post some of my signal strengths, to see if this is what other people with this...

LOL!!! In my 15 years with Dish... my Philly local have been on 110. Then some of them went to 129. Then all went to 110 again. Then some went to 61.5. Then HD came along. And the 5 Philly HD locals went on 61.5. But Philly SD is on 110 and 61.5. It seems like I have to change something...

That is the exact reason that I'll probably point to 77 (in addition to 61.5 & 72.7). That way if I want, I can disconect 119 or 110 from my DDP44 then screw in the wire for 77.

Ok... now you've thrown something else into the mix. Your Dish 500 that's pointed at 61.5/72.7... Did you install this yourself or did a technician pick this set up? How is your signal strength with this set up? I'm thinking the signal would be better with a 1000.4, than a Dish 500.
