At this point in the game, Charlie and Dish might as well just go all in. Get rid of ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sports, Big Ten, etc.. get rid of sports completely. Mediacom came to an agreement today.

Yeah, interesting. A friend has Mediacom and stated his channel came back on. But maybe he got confused with his OTA that he has setup. I'll have to see if I can get an answer from him.

Mediacom came to an agreement at the exact same time as Dish... after over a year of being off air.

I called a week or so ago. Got $50 off a month for a year, 6 months of Dish movie pack at 50% off, 3 months of showtime and Starz for free. Got this for a 12 month commitment. The nice lady at first looked up a 2 year agreement and could only get $10 off a month for that.... yeah, weird. lol...

I'm definitely still watching. Red doing Red things, especially now with him taking on another role... oh yeah. Though the Asian team member is extremely annoying... she has taken over the most annoying spot from Liz.

Right at the top of the hour, bang.. off the air. Mediacom has had Tegna off the air since January 1st... guess we'll see how long Dish holds out.

Just a slight correction. The Olympics starts tomorrow (7/20/20) with softball at 7:00p.m central time. The opening ceremony is on Friday.

I've been without my local Fox station for months. It won't surprise me if Charlie doesn't renew the contract. As Charlie has said, you find the programming else where. What Charlie has forgotten, is yep... we the customers keeping you in business can find the programming else where by going to...

Mediacom has been 3.1 since, 2017. Is it everywhere for their footprint? I have no clue. But I do know they are testing multi-gig internet, IPTV, etc.. :shrugs: Since this is about selling Directv, I'll bow out. Have a great one! :)

Actually Mediacom is already testing IPTV in certain markets, as well as multi-gig internet, such as in the Ames, Iowa area. IPTV is coming... along with multi-gig internet, Docsis 4.0, etc.. :)

Local Fox station still off the air, as well as NBC Sports Chicago, etc... Boss lady doesn't want to leave Dish, neither do I because of the Hopper 3, so lowering the Dish package, getting Mediacom cable/internet. Overall, will be paying the exact amount I am now. Not ideal, but will be getting...

Dispute is still ongoing. On one hand I'm a bit surprised Marshall, and whichever companies involved in this, haven't blinked yet. If this goes for a month, then I'll begin to think these stations won't be coming back.

I would imagine they're thinking if you're on DISH, you'd be apt to want to keep satellite, hence Directv. This area is comprised of a lot of farmers, etc.. so the Directv reference makes sense. Cable companies tend not to go to those areas due to cost of build out. Many only are able to receive...

Interesting that my local channel, KLJB, a fox station, is pretty much stating they took the signal off air... normally the station and Dish, ATT, whomever, play the blame game on who took the signal off air. Their big speel right now is, you're going to miss the NFL playoffs and Superbowl...

See, that's where the confusion comes in. Mission owns that station in Rockford it looks like, but Nexstar is still the operator. So it looks like the stations Nexstar operates is involved with this as well. Looks like about 25 stations have been taken off the air. ABC, FOX, CBS, etc.. dependent...

This is a bit of a strange one. Handful of stations threatening to go dark at 6:00p.m. today. But most of their owned stations are operated by Nexstar.. Regardless, The Marshall owned and operated stations don't have much leverage unless Nexstar flexes their muscle on it, which I'm not sure...

Yeah, I don't expect Dish to carry this or the RSN again. Charlie figures those who want it have already left, and those who are staying don't care enough to leave. My free month of youtube tv will expire soon... It's ok, pretty much the same thing as Hulu TV, but I wouldn't want to use them...
