Some Eastern Arc customers have their locals on the 77 satellite. The new hybrid LNBF does not see 77 so you would need an additional wing dish. Probably the issue.
I like putting the OTA in a side by side PIP with the same local channel from satellite to see how it compares to the satellite one. Usually cannot tell the difference except for the 10 second delay on the dish one.
You only use taps on lines going to Hoppers or Super Joeys to add a standard or 4K Joey, splitters are for multiple 4K or standard Joeys only. 4K Joeys wire up just like a regular Joey.
That's how to use a duo node if you don't have a single node. The first line from the dish is only used for the first Hopper, the third line from the dish is only used for the second Hopper, and the second line is used for both Hoppers.
I just mirror with a high quality RF modulator on channel 55 to a half dozen TVs. Everyone thinks it's HD but it's not. SD on small TVs can look pretty good when HD is the source. All the remotes work OK but one that I have to hold near a doorway and the source Joey is vertical for a stronger...
I think the HIC is better as the Joeys don't rely on the Hopper for their internet connection. Also with a HIC you can use the Hopper's ethernet ports for feeding internet to other devices by turning on bridging, (NOT supported by Dish).
I don't have static and my IP never changes after reboots or power outages. Internet provider probably uses IP reservation that expires after x number of days with no connection.
To those receiving H3s, I assume the installation setup will simply hang at step one waiting for software download since there is no public software on the satellite yet. Someone will let us know soon.
Can't put the new Hybrid LNB on a 1000.4 dish, not compatible with shape of dish. You can use the same mast and just replace the dish assembly with a 1000.2.
38 checks is pre-DP. If you have DP equipment or newer (98% of customers) and you see 38 checks, it means the receiver doesn't detect the dish at all and is now checking for presence of a legacy dish.
