    Kbs

KBS for me has been a little odd.... Have a Viewsat and a TwinHan DVB-S Viewsat shows me getting it strictly on 10R...the Twinhan shows me getting it via Intelsat...though I'm aiming and searching 10R. Sometimes I'll have on the TwinHan 2 channels for KBS via Intelsat and one channel...

    Cat5e / serial / DB9 mod

Searched for "serial over wireless 802.11" in Google and here was one of many that came up... http://www.lantronix.com/device-networking/external-device-servers/wibox.html Try the search yourself...old news apparently... =8-)

    Cat5e / serial / DB9 mod

Sorry, the chart I have is for use with DEC Terminal Servers... Was thinking though - who is to say that the connecting between the receiver console port and the serial port on the PC can't be done wireless using 802.11x. Put a wireless transceiver in ad-hoc mode on each end. Do not...

    Cat5e / serial / DB9 mod

Terminal and Console... That's all you folks are really doing - cheaper to just buy a leftover at a surplus store. You'll see alot of the CISCO ribbon with DB option lying around. Have a few myself. If you want maximum flexiblility - buy a 25 or 50 CAT5 patch cord with stranded wire - cut...

have 40' telephone pole, need ideas

He he he... First, go buy some really good wood carving tools. Second, download some nice samples of work from an online indian nation website. Thirdly, carve that sucker! THEN...THEN...put a satellite dish on it. This way your neighbors can't claim that you are lowering their...

Debating between a 30" dish and 36" dish

From someone who is 37ish North... I would definitely go 36" if it won't be a budget buster for you... The Wineguard 30" is a pretty good item - and very much used here in San Jose. However some of my buddies say that it took a good 1-2 hours to get the best signal possible - and still when...

    Fta Hd Receiver

MPEG-2, MPEG-4 is created by software my friend...sent and received by hardware my friend...and processed on the receiving end by software my friend. If the software binary was compiled to support the architectural assembly/machine language of the CPU question - then assuming all else is well...

    Fta Hd Receiver

Here's hoping that Viewsats can be upgraded... To MPEG-4, DVB-S2, etc... And the Pansats... They have decent processors...is the RAM slot isn't hardwired who's to say the SDRAM DIMM can't be replaced with a 32, 64, or 128. Crossing fingers... Else I'll have to butter up the wife...

Pentagon Channel & UofW Network & Research Channel

Doubt it...because I've manually added on the Viewsat only those transponders that I want - did the same on the Twinhan. I'm not trying to grab everything on G10r. I'm kinda wondering...should I try using OSEdit via serial cable to enter the channel details manually for those three...

Pentagon Channel & UofW Network & Research Channel

I'm getting the transponders - including 12114V nice and strong... As I said before, when I start a scan on the Viewsat - the Q bar turns blue and the scan fails. My Twinhan however has no problem scanning for channels on those transponders including 12114V. I'm getting 11720V and its...

Pentagon Channel & UofW Network & Research Channel

LO is not the issue. As I noted the Viewsat gets everything the Twinhan gets except channels on the three transponders listed. It can see the transponders - good S/Q - but no channels.
