    Where are the FTA birds?

Ok, second day of playing with this. Kinda fun. However, I can't get any other bird than IA5. However, I have been able to get 101W (dish network) and some other one just right of 101. I thought 101W was AMC4, but doing a Power Scan the only free channel I get is "You've just setup a Super DISH"...

Help with Fortec and aligning the dish

I got all the pieces put together.. whew... I have a temporary setup on the patio. My neighbor has Dish network and I have my dish pointed and angled somewhat were he is pointing. I'm just using this as a reference. <p> I have a Fortec Lifetime Ultra receiver. When I go into Antenna Setup, I...

    I'm confused now

Man, am I really confused about this dish setup. I want to setup a stationary dish for G10R. Using the Sadoun's finder page: http://sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/Satellite-Heading-Calculator.htm I see G10R is 123 satellite west longitude. Plotting my area, San Antonio, I get Elevation 46.5...

    Finally going to join FTA

Well I ordered the last piece to my FTA puzzle. Ordered a 31" dish from SGA yesterday so hopefully it will come in this weekend. One question though, I didn't buy a motor (I wanted to learn how to setup the dish first) so how hard would it be to install a motor to a dish that is already setup?

Possible mistake with Fortec Lifetime Ultra purchase

I didn't even consider C-band until I saw the channel lists that are available. And since I was planning on a 36" dish, why not get a 1.2m dish instead for C-band? I've been searching the net this morning, trying to find if my new receiver will do both Ku and C-band.

    Brand new to FTA

I'd like to thank the community for an excellent forum. I did a LOT of reading before I joined. I purchased a Fortec Lifetime Ultra on eBay a few days ago along with a Sat finder. Thanks to the review I read on the Fortec Star 36" I'll be ordering a motorized kit from Sadoun probably tomorrow...
