Thanks ChadT. ! So what is the best way to utilize a dual Hopper system? Split the timers 50/50 (or as close as) or all on one? Or some other way?

    Bought a 4k now what?

Ok got installed this afternoon. Not as big of a learning curve as I though. And wow what a upgrade! However my installer said the hoppers cannot be linked together? I thought that you could view and watch the contents of one from the other?

    Bought a 4k now what?

Thanks! [emoji3]. Especially hooked to my new Sony 4k. I can't wait to see the upconversion. Can I hook a OTA antenna to the hopper and replace the local stations with the OTA feed? If so will PTAT still work? My local CBS announced they would do a 4K OTA feed soon. I don't really watch...

    Bought a 4k now what?

I just set up a Hopper/Hopper install. It is only $2 more and the extra DVR space will be awesome. Maybe the integration will get better with updates?

    Bought a 4k now what?

I am really impressed with the upconversion and excited to see how it handles the feed from the Sat box, my main concern is that the hopper will play nice with the new panel. What is the major difference between a hopper/hopper and hopper/super Joey? Will Dish allow self installation of the...

    Bought a 4k now what?

I just picked up, well ordered a 70" 4k. I am currently using a old 622vip through component video. I am due for a upgrade and have been thinking about a hopper/hopper or hopper/super Joey. Anyhow just looking for some advice

Just a quick update. I picked up the 850b for $2400. I figure that should take me to Sony OLED. [emoji12]

    Invest in 4k display?

Oh man thanks for the feedback! I get all of my cables for BlueJeans Cables. As far as my setup. I just have a older dish box with plans to upgrade to a hopper/super Joey or hopper/hopper after the new TV. I'll also prob pick up either budget Yamaha sound bar or spring for a Klipsch...

    Invest in 4k display?

Just how it is. Lol. It's supposed to be a formal dining room but we don't use it. Hard to explain. It's like a big L with the short part being the dinning room and the long part the living room

    Invest in 4k display?

I have a seating distance of roughly 20' so I am shopping for the largest panel in my budget... Somewhere around $3000. I wish I was allowed and had the space for a rear projector, that would prob open a whole new set of options.

    Invest in 4k display?

Lol. It's always something right. If I buy now, OLED is right around the corner. Not to mention standards for 4k... I think I might just buy the best 1080p Sammy and be done... U7150...

    Invest in 4k display?

Yea. That's kind of exactly where I am at... I definitely do t want to got less than 70", it's a large room and I am replacing a Misu 73". There is a last years model Sony XBR 70" currently at BB for $2400 that is 4K. But other than that it seems entry into 4k game is $4500ish...

    Invest in 4k display?

I am currently shopping for a new tv. I have a few models in mind, but I am leaning towards a Sony 75" XBR. My question is, with current Dish receivers (I am due to upgrade, prob hopper/hopper, or super Joey) is it worth it to spend the extra, almost double, on a 4k set at this time?

Ready for new equipment... but can decide... :(

Would the picture quality of the Hopper/Super Joey/Joey be as good or better as my 612 and 622? AND Would a Hopper/Hopper or Hopper Super Joey give my about the same DVRing capability as using a 622 and 612? obviously the Hopper system would be able to "share". My main concern is my wife is...

Ready for new equipment... but can decide... :(

Awesome. Sounds like what I'll do. Upgrade the 622 to a hopper, the 612 to a SJ, and later put a Joey in man room and Childs room.

Ready for new equipment... but can decide... :(

Ok. Can I do a Hopper, SJ and add two Joeys later? Are joeys and SJ at least 720p?

Ready for new equipment... but can decide... :(

Oh, so what is the benefit of having a SJ over a second Hopper?

Ready for new equipment... but can decide... :(

I totally forgot about Super Joeys! Maybe one hopper and 3 Super Joeys would fit the bill... Or 2 supers and on regular? One will be in my childs room, she doesn't really need dvd capability per say..

Ready for new equipment... but can decide... :(

I currently have a 622 with broken hdmi, and a 612. I really want to upgrade but I can't decide what I want to do... First off I would like to add an addition two tv's to my home at some point in the future. I currently have the 622 in the main room setup in dual tuner mode, and the 612 in a...

    Upgrading to Hopper, Q's first?

I am mistaken... It was my old RP that had the DVI... Irregardless the HDMI on the 622 doesn't work.

    Upgrading to Hopper, Q's first?

Would be nice if everything looked as good as my Apple TV... Unfortunately my 622 does not have HDMI and the DVI port has never worked. It is currently connected via component, Maybe that is the bottleneck?

    Upgrading to Hopper, Q's first?

Yes, maybe not as drastic as say SD to HD but any improvement is welcome.

    Upgrading to Hopper, Q's first?

Long story short after visiting my parents and seeing the PQ of their Time Warner Cable box it makes me want to upgrade my Dish equipment. I currently have a 622 and a 612 and I was interested in a Hopper system. My family records a lot of multi hour sporting events on top of the "regular"...

Time to upgrade from the ol' 622

Well then. I guess I want to wait until I hear what the general consensus is before jumping to the Hopper... ;)
