That's what I do now. My new receiver will have HDMI, currently just my TV does. I'm shopping for a new receiver now. With the news that the PS3 will be handling DTS-MA internally, I will no longer need a receiver to do it (and a new blu ray player) so I can buy that new receiver next month.

oh dear GOD no, directv is missing 31 local channels!!! Aren't we up by more than that as far as national HD channels go? I'm sorry to say it, but this is not a blowout for dish. We still have way more HD locals than they do, especially now that DTV11 is close to being in functioning order.

It sounds dumb, but make sure your cables are going directly from the slimline to your reciever, not through splitters or anything. My DTV installer wasted 2 hours by not realizing that the cable he wanted to get to my TV had been split by the cable company many years ago.
