    works now! I just went to the Dish remote access, where it had shown my receiver was offline, now takes me to the Dish Sling page. I guess they got the R01 receiver thing figured out now... I could get to the Sling site before but not through my Dish account page.

    Used the chat link Scott posted, asked about Plat hd, CSR-Ray said I could get it for no charge, said OK...They were lit up right away. I just had Dish installed on 7-06-09 with Silver + Silver HD I'm happy, Thanks guys.

    If it's a newer receiver with an R01#, you don't see the 2 or 3 menu but it is there. Press 2 to nickname and 3 to activate. Very strange in the way it works but it eventually does work.

    I agree, I picked up a 24 port switch for a few bucks on EB, plugged it in the router, and ran cat5 ready made cables to the 722 and 222, save $10/mo. If you can get the RG6 cables to the box you can get a cat5 there too....

    After a bunch of calls and emails, Dish says they are upgrading the system to work better. I can't even see my receiver because it is a R01 that they say is too new for their system. The dish.sling site wont let you put in a R01 # for the receiver. I guess I'll just wait for them to get it...

    The problem is before you can get hooked up on that site, ( sling) you have to put your receiver # in then it says my dvr is not online, the same thing the dish site says. Plus where you put your receiver # in has a fixed R00 then the 10 digit number. My receiver is an R01**********.(vip722k)...
