Well, Directv offered a free HD-DVR and installation OR a free Genie and 2 minis with installatiion. I have the Slimline-5 dish and only have 1 tv. I want to keep the installation simple. It's a Slimline-5 dish and the menu does not say "SWM connected".

Does upgrading the system to SWM mean replacing the dish?

I currently have Choice Xtra Classic plus HD. IF I upgrade my receiver to HD DVR I've been told that it will cost an additional $ 8 plus $ 99 for the HD DVR receiver. Should I still be able to keep the Choice Xtra Classic package?

I'm upgrading to HD. Installers say I have not line of sight except from my roof. I'm concerned about damage to the roof or wind damage to the satellite. Has anyone experienced problems or have roof installations bee mostly problem free for you. This will be the 5LNB Slimline dish. Thanks
