First try at inverted Ku dish. ? on skew

This is exactly how I set up mine to get telstar 12 and it works very well. As Anole mentionned, leave the skew as is. A good strong transponder to aim for is 11963 H SR=14714. I'm in Montreal and it's about 12 degrees over the horizon and the dish looks angled at about 45 degrees. good luck :)

Free Receiver of the Week Contest Thread- Satellite AV

My favorite FTA channel is TraceTV on telstar 12, it has great music videos, no commercials, no brain dead veejays, no dumb reality shows!! I like retrojams also but I find that the audio and video quality is just not there unfortunately... video looks washed out, overcompressed, and sound...

Hi 123Tim, I'm sure you meant to ask that question to NoStrings (Neal), not me. I'm not the one with the truck! hehe regards, Michel

    Telstar12 @ 15W - Need confirmation

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately, subbing to dish network is not an option for us Canucks...! :( :( Maybe Bell ExpressVu will start carrying it someday, apparently TraceTV has the go-ahead from the CRTC (Canada's FCC) to be broadcast by canadian distributors. Michel

    Telstar12 @ 15W - Need confirmation

Thanks Tim and Neal for your replies. Much appreciated. :up It's strange that they would use that much bandwith for just audio, oh well... maybe they are still testing. Neal, I'm surprised that you can see 15W from your location! Sure must be low over the horizon !! Or is...

    Telstar12 @ 15W - Need confirmation

Hello all, According to Lyngsat, there is a new FTA music video channel on Telstar 12 @ 15West on a transponder that points to america, called TRACE TV. I saw this channel on a recent trip to Europe, it's a pretty cool channel from France that plays urban/hip hop videos mostly, if you're...

    TELSTAR 12 - Montreal Quebec

I'm in Montreal and can receive from this satellite, but it is very low above the horizon (only about 12 degrees elevation). 11732 H which had the 3 italian channels comes in very well, but some channels that lyngsat lists (like that israel channel 2) I could never catch.

    AMC 4 KU problems

Hello, Did you enter the frequency for this channel manually or from a blind scan? I'm asking this because from my experience with a skystar2 dvb card (where all frequencies need to be entered manually) sometimes I need to tweak the frequency by 1-2 MHz especially on low signal rate...

    Where Are Canadian Newsfeeds???

There are ku band CBC/RadioCanada feeds (5 channels) on Anik F1 107.3W, but they are in DVB 4:2:2 format so they may not work for you (I use a skystar2 satellite card which can, with the proper codec, decode this format in software). They're pretty active during the day

New FTA CCTV mux on E*9/IA13 - 121W

I agree that they might get encrypted at anytime but I doubt that the Dishnetwork subscribers see these channels as they have SIDs that would overlap the dish channels, and there's no provider ID either on these... I think they must be leasing this unused transponder from dish or whomever owns...

New FTA CCTV mux on E*9/IA13 - 121W

Hi there, Just to let you know that there are 12 new fta chinese channels (CCTV bouquet) at 121 W - 12161 V 20000 7/8. There's CCTV 9 in english and also there's one called CCTV E&F that broadcasts in spanish and french. Very interesting. Found that while browsing on lyngsat at work :smug...
