The FOX .... LIVE .... FOX ... LIVE flag thing in the upper-left has gotten a little smaller, that's a good step. When CNN Headline News changed formats to the "scrolling headlines" thing on the bottom, I stopped watching. It used to be my favorite channel for news updates.

The 2Wire definitely should have QoS. I'd recommend setting the MAC address of your D* box to "Lowest" priority, and you can leave your computers on the default. The idea is the router will give priority (a higher Quality of Service) to the other traffic over your D* box.

It was driving me nuts during Heroes. I couldn't focus on the episode while my girlfriend had no issue with it... until I kept bringing it up. I'm also only noticing it on channel 82.

What difference do you notice by using 720p for action programs? Has anyone noticed problems with up/down converting formats, especially on the HR20?

DirecTV's SD channels are much better than my local cable co (CableONE) and from what I've seen of DISH. Never seen DISH HD, however.

To clarify, you won't be able to record off an RF antenna on a DirecTV DVR besides the HR-20. It'll work with any standard TiVo, however.

DirecTV's satellites only target north america. I guess with a big enough dish/amplification, you could get a pretty weak signal from Brazil or something. I'm definitely not the expert.
