Hi Krell Again, many thanks. Damn you guys are good :)

Thanks, Steve. That helps a lot. Okie dokie!

Will 1000.4 reveiver work off of 110 and 119?

Many thanks Rick, Ok, that makes a lot of sense. If I provide my own dish, and lnb's if necessary, can I re-use my 722 receiver at the new location do you think?

Will 1000.4 reveiver work off of 110 and 119?

Hi Rick, Fair enough. Please forgive the lay questions, Rick, Could I still get 110 and 119 anyway? (let's forget about 129 in my question) I'd be prepared to get a new dish and lnb's if necessary on my own (but use the original 722 I am getting from DishNetwork...)

Will 1000.4 reveiver work off of 110 and 119?

Thank you Steve. I sort of looked into that. Dish's contract says there are "certain" requirements for eligibility-which I didn't look any deeper into yet, but a new subscriber probably has got the least "leeway" in that area :(

Will 1000.4 reveiver work off of 110 and 119?

Thanks for that Krell - and apoligies for the "receiver" comment-you are quite right. Though Echo11 still has some HD programming it's not nearly as many as on 129, for sure. It seems that the Eastern Arc satellites as well as 110 and 119 all use Nagravision 2 and 3 encryption. So if the...

Will 1000.4 reveiver work off of 110 and 119?

Hi folks, I realize Eastern Arc is designed for 61.5, 72.7, and 77 DBS orbital locations. As it happens, I may have to move on very short notice OUTSIDE of the Eastern Arc's footprint, and Dish will only sell me the Eastern Arc setup where I am now. Would it be straightforward for a...

Technical questions and advice - Caribbean: HD/Regular/FTA

Thanks Gary You are right about Dish's HD programming. Echo3 at 61.5 has essentially double the HD programming of Echo11 at 110. Damn. I think I will follow technoguy's suggestions. One Dish with two lnb's on it, buy the DishTV package stateside, buy my own 6' dish and any other HW I'd need...

Technical questions and advice - Caribbean: HD/Regular/FTA

Gracias technoguy "You can use a one dish setup for 119 and 110 (since echo 11 is online)" Es la verdad?!? But you cannot point to 61.5 anymore? That is a problem for you because...viewing off of 119 and 110 in the PR is limited simply because Dish PR will not let you buy the packages like...

Technical questions and advice - Caribbean: HD/Regular/FTA

Hi Gary, Hmmmm so the signal loss due to having less centered lnb's (due to having a dual lnb on one dish setup as opposed to one lnb per dish) significantly degrades the reception?? I plan to point at Echostar 11 at 110W. According to Lyngsat that bird carries both Dish's HD and regular...

Technical questions and advice - Caribbean: HD/Regular/FTA

Hi Duggan, It seems like subscribing up here at first is the way to go, simply because more channels are available to subsrcibe to! I reckon I'll have to put aside my FTA requirement for now, and just focus on Dish w/HD-which all in all ain't that bad. A couple of folks, you as well, say...

Technical questions and advice - Caribbean: HD/Regular/FTA

Thanks guys! THREE dishes Duggan?! Howzat?? I can see Echostar 10/11 down there no problem. Hell, I can see all of Dish's satellites from down there. As I understand it, if I had a Dish "everything Pak" with the HD upgrade installed up here in Mass, then only one dish would be needed...

Technical questions and advice - Caribbean: HD/Regular/FTA

LMAO :D That's what Sadoun's guy said!! And?!?!? Perhaps you could point me to a setup like that, eh? Is the HW sold for the triple lnb w/dish?

Technical questions and advice - Caribbean: HD/Regular/FTA

Hi Gary Many thanks. No, I realize that the freebie DishTV satellite dish is not what I'll need down there-hence my mention of "at least a 5' dish". (Sadoun has a 6' dish that looks about right...) So, if I have my own 6' dish which I'll purchase on my own. is that doable? Eric

Technical questions and advice - Caribbean: HD/Regular/FTA

Hi folks, Well, here goes... I am up in Plymouth, Mass right now, but my questions pertain to a Dish TV install in the US Virgin Islands. As I am in New England (CONUS) I can get through Dish the "Everything Pak" with Platinum HD. This package is not available if I were to go through a local...

Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands TurboHD

Thanks you guys Thanks so much Iceberg and jdonato. Yeah, that's what I heard about the 119 degrees bird. HBO, Showtime, TNT, HDNet, HDNEt Movies, ESPN, NFL, HDNet Movies, Sci Fi and USA in HD isn't a bad start I reckon. That's the way I'll go, and then monitor any news about "something...

Hi Folks, Long time browser, but new member-so please forgive me for posting this question(s) if it is in an inappropriate forum. My home is at: 18°19'26"N by 64°42'5'W I have seen many ads for DishTV's new TurboHD system, and I really want to subscribe to the programming package...
