I've had my 811 since march and overall it has been a very good receiver for the money.Rebooting now and again can be a pain but not that bad. At least it's not as bad as a PC. :D

KWCASH,I live in Glendale and I haven't seen any changes in Channel 15. They still have the 3 digital feeds,15-1,15-2, and the news on 15-3.If they dropped their power levels I can't tell.If they don't answer your e-mails give them a call.Hope your problem gets solved and good luck :)

We got the update today in the Phoenix area.The guide shows info for most of the digital channels but only some of the analogs.I have to admit I really like having the digital channel info,especially on the HD PBS station, because they have different programming than the analog PBS.I have'nt...

Try using the page up key for changing aspect for HD and the page down key for SD on your 811 remote instead of the * key.They changed it with software release 2.80. :)

ljlove welcome aboard, I live in Glendale and with my 811 and my 6000 channel 12 and all of my OTA channels have a lower audio level than the satellite channels. So I would'nt worry about that either.Enjoy your 811 and the Olympics. :)

I have noticed the PQ is better on SD channels also.Except the Travel channel it always seems to look grainy,maybe it's just me. :)

I tried running my vcr thru the external inputs on my 811 when I first got it back in March,have to admit I was not very impressed with the PQ.You can try your dvd player, but I don't think it will improve your PQ."IMHO"

Listen to what Simple Simon is telling you,it can't be that much of a hassel to disconnect a few wires and a cable and put it in your car and reconnect at your cabin.Think of the money you will SAVE.

I've had my 811 since March, and it's hardware revision LADD.My question is do any of the newer hardware revisions I'm seeing in this thread work any better or have a better picture than ours with the older revisions?

You might also want to call your ABC and PBS stations to see if they are having any problems.I saw the same thing late last year with my CBS and PBS affiliates and both were having equipment problems,so it might not be your 811,good luck.

My 811 is much improved with the release of P266.The s-video and composite inputs are acceptable now,was even able to turn down the brightness and picture some on my 47' Panasonic.The DVI was a little brighter to.The guide has not had to download when I open the EPG either,so I'm inclined to...

Talked to Technical support CSR this morning about the dark video,she said s/w 266 was to correct it end of this month or early in May.Thing is her tone of voice got kind of nervous when I mentioned that the internet was saying it was a hardware problem and not software,so we'll see.

I have to second Garypen's questions and wonder when in the near future can we call and have it replaced.The dark video is the biggest complaint I have with my 811 because of the way it affects my vcr recording.If they don't replace it then they should let me out of the commitment to the HD...

I don't have a DVR so I really don't see any point to leaving the reciever on 7/24.I have left my 811 on for 24 hours before and didn't decrease any of the problems with it.

Norm,yes you will probably have to do the reset more than once.I've had to hard reset it three times since 265 came out,but who knows you might get lucky. :)

I had the same problem with the info not available,yesterday.Like Freya1 said unplug the 811 then run the switch test after it comes back up,it should download the EPG info and keep it there.For how long who knows? ;)
