I did it at the apartment I am in now. Will a different zip code make any difference?

I am moving to a new apartment with a different zip code...do I really need to do the transfer through Directv? Can't I just install my dish and hook up the recievers myself, then call them and give them my new address?

I am moving into an apartment and they do not allow us to mount the satellite dishes on the building at all. I have searched and searched for tripods that will support the weight of the dish and have not found any that I think would work. Is there another way in which to secure the dish?:confused:

I recently signed up with Directv and have 3 boxes activated. One of them is a DVR Plus in which I wanted to hook up at my mothers house. She already has a Directv dish in place and all the cable/wiring done from when I was living there. I tried to just hook the box up for her and it's not...
