using activated box at another location

I recently signed up with Directv and have 3 boxes activated. One of them is a DVR Plus in which I wanted to hook up at my mothers house. She already has a Directv dish in place and all the cable/wiring done from when I was living there. I tried to just hook the box up for her and it's not showing anything. I remember last time that I just went into the set up screen and chose set up, in which it allowed me to change the zip code and we were able to get access. This time it isn't working. Have they changed things with the system so that users cannot change the settings? I live in the zip code 80134...she lives at 80016...how can I get her box working?

What you want to do is against the terms of service with DTV.

I am curious though, as my Mother lives next door and is currently using one of our old boxes. The tech that did the install did not seem to have a problem and was actually pretty helpful in explaining to my husband how to set it up.

Rerun the check switch and see if that gets it running. DISH receivers need that if you change from one kind of dish install to another. I would think that DIRECTV is similar.
