I have a 6000U receiver and the sound level of HDNET keeps going up and down. No other channels have this problem. Has anybody else noticed this?

I got a recorded message from E* yesterday saying to give them a call to activiate the new yellow smart card they've sent me. Why would they send me a new card if the current one is working ok (I have a 6000U receiver)? Also, does the new card provide any new functionality?
