wired IR repeater doesn;t work either. this dish 612 is just a giant POS that won't work with any IR entending/repeating stuff. is it because it's UHF+IR? who knows. damn it.

thanks for the ideas...but i've taken the remote and the extender to the other side of the house just to test it previously...still can get a signal intended to go to the 612. the frustrating thing about all this is that i know the Terk extender can transmit the signal...it's just such a POS...

I just did that with my 6.3 (grey side of the key up, hit record in system info screen) and the 612 says 'IR/UHF' mode. i know it's still using UHF, though, because i can still control the 612 in the next room...

we might be onto something here: i'm using my 5.3 IR remote with the 612 set to IR mode - that's how it was set up on installation when i told the tech i planned on using a harmony with it. everything controls fine on the 612 with it... would it make a difference to switch to the 6.3 i have...
