    Our old analog receiver would still play the current channel while the Guide was being viewed. Our new 811 doesn't. When I push Guide, the guide is all I see, and there is no sound. Not a big deal, but it's annoying. Is there some way to change this? Thanks!

    OK, thanks for the explanation folks. Now here's why I ask - if I buy an 811 HD receiver from eBay, what will I have to do to get it to work? Will I have to call Dish and ask them to authorize it? Is there a charge to do this? Thanks!

    Oh, OK. How does the satellite know where to send the "hit?" In other words, does the receiver have some type of hardcoded address? And the satellite sends the hit to that specific address? Thanks!
