Need some help - 8 foot Unimesh install

The reason why your regular streaming devices and likely most TVs can't playback most 4:2:2 HD feeds is the same reason your satellite receivers can't watch them. The processors don't support 4:2:2 chroma and don't have the power to decode using software. I understand this may have worked in...

I don't want to rain on anyone's fun or experimentation but do you honestly believe the cpu powering your TV's OS is going to playback a 4:2:2 HD stream?

I've posted this previously but I've tried the major streaming devices for 4:2:2 HD playback over wired ethernet. FireTV 4k and GoogleTV 4k cannot playback 4:2:2 HD feeds. FireTV cube and NVIDIA Shield TV can playback 720p but fail on 1080. AppleTV can playback 720p and 1080 but the colors on...

Great to hear this worked out. I don't have a V9 but it sounds like I should consider it. Regarding using other streaming devices for a client such as Roku, Chromecast etc. they won't work for 4:2:2 HD feeds.

Streaming 4.2.2 via Phone to TV

Yes I too can stream 4:2:2 HD from Edison to smartphone and PC (Chromebox running Windows) and both devices can play content normally. You can't cast from your phone to TV because your TV media player or streaming device can't playback the 4:2:2 HD file and your phone CPU likely can't process...

Streaming 4.2.2 via Phone to TV

The inability to cast from phone to TV is not related to bandwidth, it relates to your TV's inability to process/playback the 4:2:2 HD stream. None of the current mainstream streaming devices, FireTV 4k, GoogleTV 4k streamer, Nvidia Shield TV can playback 4:2:2 HD (1080) HEVC. The Nvidia...

I'm able to successfully stream 4:2:2 HD feeds from my Edison OS Mio to PC and my smartphone but thus far haven't found any streamer which is capable and that includes latest the latest AppleTV 4K, FireTV 4k, nVidia ShieldTV, and GoogleTV 4k streamers over wired ethernet connection. I'm...

My apologies for the confusion as I was referring to 4:2:2. Unfortunately the manual specifies for 4.2.2 feeds it only supports mpeg2. For regular 4:2:0 feeds, yes h.264 is supported. See manual page 12. You won't be able to view any 4:2:2 feeds with that recevier.

Is that a 4:2:2 feed? The manual specifies MPEG 4:2:2 mode support (MPEG 2 Only)

Which feeds have you received that are h.264? I ask because where in the manual do you see that it supports h.264 or mpeg4?

According to what cyberham posted, its AVC or h.264 which is what your receiver was telling you. Your receiver can't decode it.
