    Cancelling Dish Network service

I had DirecTV from 95-2001, then Dish until 2015, tried Comcast for about a year and tired of all the outages, worse than rain fade on satellite, which is at least predictable. Went to DriectTV and was fine until the usual jack up price of $50 with no real deals to keep me. Went back to Comcast...

    Cancelling Dish Network service

Curious why you are all leaving Dish? Cord cutting or on to something different?

    Is AT&T gutting DIRECTV?

AT&T of years ago does not exist, the current AT&T is SBC that bought the rights to the dying AT&T brand years ago. SBC sucked more than AT&T.

NBC, AT&T Reach Long-term Carriage Deal (4k included)

The satellite provider pays all this, in exchange the local OTA broadcaster reaches more people and potentially increases ad revenue from have a larger audience. The broadcaster basically is getting greedy by double dipping.

Why did you choose DirecTV over Dish?

Was Directv in 1995 when ti was $800 for single TV setup, left for Dish in 2001 becasue Dish was offering better deals. Stayed with Dish until early 2016 when I moved to Xfinity for Internet and could not resist the bundles, was also tired of the constant rate hikes, fees and disputes. 8 month...

Will DTV Do Something Like Tivo's New Guide?

DTV's biggest mistake was letting go of TiVo as a partner. Hopper just crushes Genie in the technology area, DTV has edge in PQ and a few other things.

NBC, AT&T Reach Long-term Carriage Deal (4k included)

I agree they get to use the airwaves for free and retransmit should be part of that ability to use the airwaves for free.

after 15 years, i really dont get much

So I was with Dish 15 years and the real deals came after the disconnect after I had Comcast installed before they shipped me the return boxes. Too late at that point. Problem is Comcast has more outages than Dish rain fade so now I need to decide between DTV or Dish. Dish has H3 with better...

Coming back after 15 years, some questions

I have 2 Dish dishes on the roof now, from what I can tell the DTV mast will be different, can anyone tell me what the current dish setup is for DTV? I want to try and avoid them putting more holes in my roof.

Coming back after 15 years, some questions

Thanks. I see the AM21 is pricey so will skip it. I am going to look into a nice 3TB AV drive and eSata case before my install. I will use Dishpointer, but should be good since disk 110/119 were good.

Coming back after 15 years, some questions

I started with DTV back in 1995 when it was $800 and stayed with them 6 years until Dish had some better deals. I then stuck with Dish until earlier this year when I was tired of PQ, channel disputes and their constant nickel and diming fees. I had gotten Comcast Internet becasue UVerse was just...

    Dish can go F$@% themselves

Well that could be true, but would be very arrogant of them, but that is their choice.

    Dish can go F$@% themselves

At this point not sure Dish is worth it, their attitude, constant blackouts and inferior PQ. The real appeal was the Hopper 3 and I am used to being dumbed down by the X1 from Comcast now for 8 months so that the Genie will be a step up. The real plus for H3 was the 2TB so that I could record...

    Dish can go F$@% themselves

So got back from ATT store, Select package with locals and two TVs and 45mbs down Internet with no data caps for $100 a month locked for 24 months and $100 Visa gift card. $21 install charge and both installs are same day. Credit check was fine and no hassles. I just wish Directv Genie had 2TB...

    Dish can go F$@% themselves

Only once in 15 years did I complain and get a lower rate, also in 15 years every bill was early.

    Dish can go F$@% themselves

And when I go to their web site and select everything and say I have excellent or good credit it does not attempt to charge me for the H3. Only if I say Average credit (which an 800+ score is not average) does it want $50 up front. So clearly they have an issue with their system. I just checked...

    Dish can go F$@% themselves

so I was a customer for 14 years, gave them over $15K over that time. I left 7 months ago because is was sick of the nickel and diming and got a good bundle from Comcast. Well in 7 months of Comcast I have had more outages and interruptions. Than all the rain fade over 15 years with Dish. So I...

Eastern Arc vs Western Arc yet again....

Cool I am in Cobb as well. Then maybe EA will be the answer. WA may work still for a while, but I get nervous with my neighbors tress, with EA if tress become an issue they are mine and down they will go. Why does H3 require a single Dish? I was actually hoping they would keep one pf the WA...

Eastern Arc vs Western Arc yet again....

I was a dish subscriber over 14 years and moved to Comcast about 7 months ago and give up. Comcast DVR is junk compared to Hopper and while Comcast PQ is far superior the outages are killing me. Another 4 hour outage yesterday. I don't think all the rain fade outages over 14 years have added up...

Thinking of coming back, but, some questions plus eastern arc vs. western arc

I left out th reliability, I have had more Comcast outages in 7 months than with 15 years of dish. Dish I only get occasional rain fade during bad storms, but fees are getting crazy. Just chatted with th m, flex package with locals $49, DVR fee $15, protection fee $8 so $72 for their package to...

Thinking of coming back, but, some questions plus eastern arc vs. western arc

So I was with Dish for 15 years after 7 years with Directv. I finally was fed up with signal fade and the rising fees. Comcast struck me a great deal for Internet and cable TV that was hard to refuse. First think I noticed was the PQ on Comcast is far better than Dish, The other thing I quickly...
