My installer showed up with an oversized ladder(mounted to their truck). Since my roof has internal access requiring a 12 foot ladder, they asked if I had one they could use- rather than them unmounting theirs and lugging it up a few flights of stairs. I suppose I should've charged THEM. :D

Thanks for the confirmation. That's what I suspected. Being I've never really experienced any major STB problems - from the zero signal, it really looked as if my dish got disconnected physically (or fell out of alignment) - so I was very surprised to see a 3rd reboot brought it back...

I've heard that the VOOM STB could still be used as an HD decoder for OTA reception, even if it's deactivated. How would this work ? (Does using the diplexer matter ?) I'm concerned that if Voom goes dark prior to the Super Bowl, that i won't have HD signal for it :(
