Did you get a free Roku offer?

I will post my experience because maybe it's relevant to others and it's a little unique. I am in Puerto Rico, I have HBO, Showtime and the Latino Max. I pay about $96 a month. I talked to the first person on the line and he only pushed the $2 per episode credit. I asked how long i had left on...

I've tried a couple of different antennas and I'm having a hard time getting a reliable signal

This is my TV fool: I got an outdoor powered one and one of the flat powered ones for indoor use. The odd thing is that on the indoor one I get some channels that I don't get on the out door one. I would just like to get the most possible. The most problematic channel by far is 13. The rest I...

    The NEW iPhone 4S Discussion

I got one for my sister, I regularly use android tablets and I have to say that it is something else. I've never been a fan of Apple's practices and pricing but the iPhone 4s is just fast and very responsive. Android always feels choppy, like if you're trying to type something or switching...

Can't hit Simon Bolivars C-Band with a small dish

I am looking for one, the only problem down here is the hurricanes. This season has been particularly active, so I would've had to take it down 4 times this year already and we're not done.

Can't hit Simon Bolivars C-Band with a small dish

Now that the Ku Band LNB is back on it, I might either try to get NSS 806 on the 4.5 footer and see what happens since I already have it tuned to Hispasat and I already bought the CBand LNB, it probably won't work but I'm just messing around with it for the fun of it. When that doesn't work i'll...

Can't hit Simon Bolivars C-Band with a small dish

I might need to go bigger. I pulled off the CBand LNB put the K band one on there and got 85%. So it's pointed right.

Can't hit Simon Bolivars C-Band with a small dish

Thank you for the tip. I looked at it and it was wrong, I corrected it. This is how things are looking as of today:

Can't hit Simon Bolivars C-Band with a small dish

In the receiver which is Openbox s10, I just added the C Band version of Simon Bolivar that came preloaded with it. I'm out of my depth when it comes to configuring the receiver but that's the way I did it the first time and it worked.

Can't hit Simon Bolivars C-Band with a small dish

Thank you for your reply! It's this one. It's pretty small I think 4 feet? I originally was going to use this one: Which is 4.5 feet but if you notice when you point it towards venesat it's blocked by the Dish antenna (lack of foresight!).

Can't hit Simon Bolivars C-Band with a small dish

I've been trying all day to hit the Simon Bolivar with a small dish and a CBand LNB with scalar ring. According to this: SatBeams - Satellite Coverage Maps - Sat Footprint Venesat 1 (Simon Bolivar 1) I should be able to do it with a small antenna. I'm in Puerto Rico. According to...

    Venesat Problem

I did read it, I understood most of it but I didn't to keep bothering him. I've actually read it a couple of times, what is stumping me is trying to find a true circular cbandlnb. Locally I could purchase one with a dielectric plate. I wanted to get on it tomorrow but it seems I don't have the...

    Venesat Problem

Yep It looks like it's done. carlospr I see in your sig you have NSS 806, do you have it on a six footer? I have a 54 inch dish and I don't know if it'll be enough. Will a C Band LNB with a dielectric plate and scalar ring be enough?

Is CBand harder to work with than Ku?

Thank you guys. It actually does sound a little bit harder. lol. I will try to change the Hispasat to the smaller antenna tomorrow and use the 54 inch to try to get NSS 806.

Is CBand harder to work with than Ku?

With the loss of Venesat I am looking at NSS 806 to replace it. The thing is that while I've installed two antennas for Ku band (Hispasat and Venesat). I have no experience with C Band. It looks daunting, I mean right off the bat I might need a bigger antenna. I have seen some info on mini BUD...

    Venesat Problem

I wonder is this has anything to do with the launch of CANTv which is the 15th of this month. This would be terrible.

    Venesat Problem

Last night I stopped receiving most of the Venesat channels (encrypted), I did a blindscan and a lot of channels (like cartoon network?) were added but all encrypted. If my interpretation of the lyngsat is correct I should still be able to receive some of the channels on the 11380 H. The only 3...

Moar! Another Sat, another receiver, new LNB etc (questions post)

Thank you for that post, I think I got it figured out. I am going to get the concept of multiple LNBs down on my current 4X1 then move to a 8X1. On my Hispasat antenna, i'm going to try to capture NSS 806 and NSS 7, both C Band I know, but I want to see what happens. I'm mainly interested on...

Moar! Another Sat, another receiver, new LNB etc (questions post)

I just have it set up to one receiver now. I think I will stick with one receiver as I don't have anyone else that is interested on the programming at my home other than my dad. I already have a 4 to 1 Diseqc but I will probably have to go to 8 to 1 if I add SatMex 5, 6 and Galaxy 19. I just...

I was wondering if i could add lnbs to either the venesat or hispasat pointing antennas

Moar! Another Sat, another receiver, new LNB etc (questions post)

I am considering adding a 6 footer for Satmex 5 and 6 and Galaxy 10. The problem I am facing now is that the roof is at an angle where I am putting the satellites and I can't drill on the flat part. I am considered a non penetration base for the 6 foot dish. I was wondering if I am going to...

Moar! Another Sat, another receiver, new LNB etc (questions post)

Yes Hispasat is on the first Antenna here: What I wonder now is if a 6 footer fits between the the second and third antenna (L to R): If I can get one in there and capture SatMex 5, 6 and Galaxy 19, it would be great. Then I would have to figure out the Diseq setup.

Moar! Another Sat, another receiver, new LNB etc (questions post)

These are huge. About 4 feet I think. They replaced them with smaller ones a couple of years later. I just bought the part to put the LNB in. I was glad to get some use out of that Dish and the post that i had fixed to the wall for it. When I switched to Dsh we tried using the same one but we...

Moar! Another Sat, another receiver, new LNB etc (questions post)

The store replaced the bad LNB and I put it on the old DTV dish and pointed towards Venesat, I got hit on my first try. I added combined that signal with the Hispasat and sent it down to the Openbox S10, now I have around 30 channels in spanish. Im still figuring out how to add channels on the...

Moar! Another Sat, another receiver, new LNB etc (questions post)

Recevied the OpenBox S10 yesterday and I am very impressed. It didn't have Hispasat listed but it was easy to add and add channels. Got 2 more spanish channels than on the Microyal and a lot more non-spanish channels. Good box and great price. Going to pick up a replacement LNB to try to...
