Watching video via home network question.

It works ok in that if I just let it run, it will run until it's done. Not being able to pause, ff, or rev is a bit of a pain. Looks like that is what we are liimited to at the moment though. Thanks all!

Watching video via home network question.

Yeah, that tracks with my experience. I also found that if you pause, you are likely to have it crash, and then you gotta start from the beginning again. Does anybody know of a way to network video into the HRxx and have reliable pause/ff/rev?

Watching video via home network question.

I've got Tversity running on my 64 bit Vista PC, and an HR22-100 networked. I can see the audio, video, and pictures just fine through the network. My question is this: while I'm watching a video, I can only pause it. Is that normal, or should I be able to fast forward and reverse too?

    DirecTivo HR10-250 Blowout!

I called yesterday and got the H10 Tivo DVR for $20 shipping/handling. I know my locals aren't included in D* programming yet, so here is my question - does the H10 have the ability to act as an OTA receiver too, so I can get my locals via an antenna? (what kind of antenna?) My TV doesn't have...

My in-laws did that at Disney. They said it was easy to use, but yes, your legs get tired.

So if I get a 4x8 cascadable switch, I'm good to go. Thanks! Any model/make recommendations?

Added DVR, need additional line from dish

Ok, I understand the difference between the two. Just to make sure I understand correctly: Can I still use a 4x8 multiswitch with my setup even though it has a built in multiswitch and the outputs are the "direct to receiver" type rather than what you would get prior to the signal reaching...

Added DVR, need additional line from dish

These multi-switches--are they basically splitters (ie. send in one line from the satellite dish and get 2 separate and usable ones back?) I've gotten a second DVR and have been dealing with only having one connection to it (all four line outs are being used), but if there is a simple (and...

Thinking of getting DirectTV, signup questions

My local phone provide, Verizon, has a bundle deal which gives you a monthly discount. With local phone, DSL, and DirectTV through them, I get about $11 off the bill per month. I just switched over from Adelphia HSI and Digital Cable, and I find the D* to be far and away a better alternative...

    Software upgrade question

Thanks. I thought I had seen something about a 4.0 version somewhere, but I guess not. So from 3.1 to 6.2 - should be twice as good, eh? :yes

The 6.2 software is coming for the DTV dvr's

How do I get to the TiVo guide?

    Software upgrade question

I just got D*/TiVo installed on Saturday :D . I got the Phillips DSR708/R17 DVR unit. Poking through things, I noticed that I've got software version 3.1.1. How can I upgrade to the latest version? Will it do so automagically? Does this unit qualify for the 6.2 upgrade everyone is buzzing...

Sending DVR recording to another room

If you were to run a cable into another room, could you watch a recorded program on the remote tv as well as a live program on the local tv?
