I've got Tversity running on my 64 bit Vista PC, and an HR22-100 networked. I can see the audio, video, and pictures just fine through the network.

My question is this: while I'm watching a video, I can only pause it. Is that normal, or should I be able to fast forward and reverse too?

If I recall right from my tversity experimentation, there is no 'trick play' in the video allowed on the HR2x's. Only pause and play. Further, I dont think you can pause, exit and go back to it and pick up where you left off, I think it starts at the beginning.

Yeah, that tracks with my experience. I also found that if you pause, you are likely to have it crash, and then you gotta start from the beginning again.

Does anybody know of a way to network video into the HRxx and have reliable pause/ff/rev?

Probably something like this, though I have no experience with the product...

The wdtv will play video in the right formats off a pc on the same network, but wont work with the hr2x. Could be used in PLACE of the HR2x, but then you're changing video inputs and grabbing a different remote control.

Johnny, I played with tversity, twonky, playon and several other options and never did get anything that worked reliably enough to be used by less than a mad scientist. I could get it working but then the next directv firmware download would break one part of it and change something else. I threw in the towel. Seems like some people have better luck than others.

Photos seemed to work okay. Music often worked fair to well. Video was always some sort of hassle.

It works ok in that if I just let it run, it will run until it's done. Not being able to pause, ff, or rev is a bit of a pain.

Looks like that is what we are liimited to at the moment though.

Thanks all!
