    Unsupported Mode on Seiki TV

It worked fine with the stream box connected to the Seiki TV. I moved it back to the main TV where I pulled the entertainment center away from the wall so I could see the splitter. The splitter has an EDID switch that you can choose "TV" or "STD". I changed this to "STD" and everything works. :)

    Unsupported Mode on Seiki TV

No, I did not try that yet. It's a really good idea, I will try it tonight.

    Unsupported Mode on Seiki TV

I have been using DirecTV satellite for a number of years using wireless Genie minis. I use the HDMI output from the mini and that goes into an HDMI splitter. The splitter splits to a newer Samsung and to an older Seiki 1080p tv. This was working fine with the mini although we occasionally...

Thinking of going from DTV to DTV Stream...questions

I think with fiber, the upload speed is equal to the download speed. Is there some other advantage to fiber over non-fiber?

Thinking of going from DTV to DTV Stream...questions

I'm also considering switching to Stream. I'm thinking about using two of the Stream Devices so my wife has an easier interface. What is the "C71"? DirecTV is offering "Certified Restored" devices for $49.99. Is this the same as the C71?

    Switching from Dish to Directv

I think I will be charged $7 per month for the second wireless Genie. If I only have two tvs, do I need the second Genie?

    Switching from Dish to Directv

What if I have a sound bar that does not accept RF? Do I need to use a separate remote for volume?

    Switching from Dish to Directv

Do the wireless Genie Minis require line of sight to the remote control? Can I operate them from another room and/or have them hidden behind other stereo components?

    Switching from Dish to Directv

Can I just ask the installer when he arrives or do I need to request these in advance...???

    Switching from Dish to Directv

I believe I also read that picture in picture is only available on the tv connected to the main Genie server. How does that work if it is not connected to a tv?

    Switching from Dish to Directv

Just to simplify setup. My wife doesn't like installers crawling around and drilling holes, etc. And I can them move them to different tv if I want. How bad are the wireless clients?

    Switching from Dish to Directv

I am having Directv installed Monday morning. I have a question about installation: I told them I have two tvs and want wireless Genie. I think my order says I am getting two wireless Genie Minis. I believe there is also a Genie server (or base). Does the Genie Server need to be connected to a...

Leaving Dish - Can I Watch Recordings?

I am probably going to leave Dish because we lost Fox Sports Ohio. We have quite a few recordings on the DVR. Will Dish require me to return the Hopper which we received just over two years ago? If not, is there any way I can watch the recordings on the Hopper after my Dish service is cancelled?

    Transfer to New Hopper

The technician said he could have Dish send me a box to return the old Hopper after the transfers completed. But, he thought they were done so he took it with him. Oh well, I was able to move a bunch of our recordings to an external drive before he came so we still have some of them. Hopper 3...

    Transfer to New Hopper

I'm transferring a big folder that had about 150 recordings. Says it will take 923 minutes yet so I'm going to bed. :) Does anyone know if the technician would make the transfer for me with an Ethernet cable when he brings the new Hopper 3?

    Transfer to New Hopper

Will the recordings stay in folders on the hard drive?

    Transfer to New Hopper

My hard drive works. But, how do I select ALL recordings including the ones that are in folders?

    Transfer to New Hopper

I recently received the Dish upgrade and my Hopper and Joey started having problems; pausing while navigating menus, black screen, etc. I called and Dish will upgrade me to Hopper 3 for $100 and a wireless Joey for $25. They are scheduled to come Friday for the install. (She was going to charge...

    Dolby Sound Off?

I have my Hopper connected to a HDMI splitter. The splitter splits to one 50" newer TV and also to a wireless sender that is an older 30" TV. Until I hooked up the ZVOX sound box on Saturday, all was good. But, I think it was on PCM sound only. When I changed the Hopper to Dolby, everything...

    FM Radio

Yes, looks like that would probably work. It's not really the "look" I think my wife will want.... Any other thought? What do others use?
  21. O

    FM Radio

Yes, that would definitely work. But, I would kind of like something that has an antenna to get more stations (we're pretty rural) and that looks nice in the entertainment center and connected from the back as a permanent connection. The ZVOX has analog RCA (red and white) in the back but I...

    FM Radio

I hope to get a sound bar for Christmas. Hopefully either the ZVOX 555 or ZVOX 580. The ZVOX has 2 Component, 1 Optical Digital, and 1 Coaxial Digital input. I plan to connect my TV using the Optical Digital input on the ZVOX. It also has a front 3.5 mm jack for connecting an ipod or similar...

    Hopper Upgrades

Could I have a member of DIRT contact me? I'd like to know what the cost would be (up front and monthly) to replace my joey with a super joey. I currently have 1 Hopper (with my own external sling adapter) and 1 Joey.

    "Old Joey" wireless??

If I have an N router but have other non-N clients (older PCs and laptop) would this slow the whole router to 802.11g and thus negate the benefit of N?

    "Old Joey" wireless??

Can powerline adapters be plugged into a surge protector? I have been under the impression they will not work if plugged into a surge protector.
